Day 21 - the assault on the senses that is the highland birch woodland. Beard lichen hanging from the trees, blaeberry on the ground and the distant purple haze of birch twigs. Lovely!

Full marks to Alladale today. Red squirrel scampering across the track in front of me, red deer stag glaring at me from above, and then two black grouse sitting amongst the young saplings high on Carn Alladale. Top job 🙂👍
