Help! I want to write to Al and Nan Larson to tell them how much Rent has changed my life and thank them for raising an amazing man. 1) are either of them still alive? 2) does anyone have their mailing address that I can send the letter to? 3) if they're not alive, I'd love to send it to Julie Larson. Anyone have her mailing address?
REVIEW: Anthony Rapp & Adam Pascal show
Last night I attended their show in Cerritos, Ca. The journey to get there was a little bumpy but I made it none-the-less! (There was traffic because of Knotts Scary Farm.. then I GOT LOST! [not surprising btw] then I really had to pee and couldn't find the bathroom but I got to my seat with 10 minutes to spare)
The show began with Adam Pascal coming on stage and singing his acoustic rendition of Memory who he introduced as "the best song in the worst show I've ever seen" [Don't quote me on that but it was something like that] From there he sang Johanna, acoustic as well. Then he was joined by Larry Edoff and Gary Seligson where he performed Solsbury Hill [Anthony Rapp came out during this song and they were amazing together] His song choices were perfect for his voice, and the range his voice can go is amazing! His show was full of funny stories and he had everyone in the theater laughing. He asked us if he should take his dog to get cosmetic surgery because he had noticed that his dog had an asymmetrical asshole! then he finished that story saying "It wasn't really a question I already got it done." He also performed MY favorite song "A single drop of you" and i was reminded why this guy is my inspiration! He also told us about the non- glamorous life of a broadway star, like when he got heckled at a show full of senior citizens and he had to cut the show short. His set was a combination of .. WONDERFUL! and extremely entertaining. The only thing I was sad about was the fact that he didn't sing anything off Aida, I was hoping of maybe Radames' letter, or Elaborate Lives! but no :( It's okay though because the whole show in its entirety made up for that. My favorite part was probably how he burped TWICE during his show! It showed the audience how real he really is I LOVED IT haha (he did apologize for the burping)
During his part of the show Anthony Rapp took me through a roller coaster of wonderfully felt emotions. I fell in love, I went through a break up, I was a stalker, I chased some cars, and I felt the loss of a mother all in one show. I loved every single second of it. He started the show with an upbeat song "Living Alone" followed by "then Again." Because of this show I will always remember the second I fell in love with Anthony Rapp it was the second he began singing "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol. His voice fit the song perfectly and I felt hypnotized by his voice the entire time. When he began speaking about his mother; I felt like he was speaking to only me I felt his pain and his gratitude for having a wonderful mother. "Visits to You" [a song about his mother] brought me to tears, I could feel his emotion in every single note sung, I did wipe the tears away quickly I didn't want people thinking I was an emotional freak. When he sang "Without You", which was a nice surprise, AGAIN tears everywhere! Anthony finished his set with What You Own and Adam Pascal came out and joined him!
ENCORE!! Adam Pascal sang the wonderful "One Song Glory" when the song ended it took all self control in me to not get up and yell "You fucking rock ADAM PASCAL!".. that good! After Adam, Anthony Rapp came out and sang "Another Day" and he never ceases to amaze me it was amazingly sung. The grand finale came, and believe me when i say GRAND FINALE. Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp sang Seasons of Love.
Believe me when I say I had a smile on my face from the moments the lights went down until I got in bed after I came home. I left feeling inspired and overwhelmed with happiness. If this show comes to your town GO!!!! I promise you it is worth every single cent.
Also to add to the AMAZING night I got a picture and autographs by both Adam and Anthony. PLUS! I met Allan Larson and Dan Weiss
