[[Much of later turian education is done in the military, so Tavi actually missed out on a lot of basic knowledge that a turian his age should know.  He isn’t very well informed on history, cultures, etc. and sort of has to wing it or go by what he finds on the extranet.]]

[[Even long after he’d gotten out of it, Tavi still sometimes has hookups that will leave him money afterwards, assuming he was a prostitute.  It never fails to upset Tavi enough that he often won’t get any sleep that night or, if he does, it will be plagued by nightmares.  He never keeps the money.]]
