here's my fresh master sword tattoo, feat my healed slay the princess tattoo!!!!!!!!!!

allow me a moment to gush about how fucking pretty my artist's work is, like holy shit her lines are so crisp and her color work is SO good 😭🙌 i'm so so happy her studio is close enough for me to commute to, her style is EVERYTHING i want in tattoos!!!!! (the lovely gray ribbon tattoo on instagram ❤️)

AND NOW FOR MY SYMBOLISM RANT! VAGUE SPOILERS INEVITABLE!! READ BELOW THE CUT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

okay so my stp tattoo has the Pristine Blade, red poppies, and brambles/thorns because it's specifically a tribute to The Thorn as she's my FAVORITE route in the whole game and i love her so much i cry about her on the regular 🥹 the hilt is also specifically angled toward my wrist instead of my elbow because the whole point of The Thorn route is to give up the blade and break the cycle of killing and hurt!!

my master sword tattoo, on the other hand (hahaha literally 😂), is angled with the hilt to my elbow because the whole point of the master sword is the perpetuation of cycles in defense of those you love against greater evils!! it's also on my left arm because link is traditionally left handed, and instead of poppies i went for silent princess flowers :3

and because i still wanna talk about it, here's a list of the design elements we mirrored intentionally:

tloz: decayed blade, stp: sharp blade

tloz: blue flowers, stp: red flowers

tloz: smooth leaves, stp: sharp brambles

tloz: smooth petals, stp: jagged petals

tloz: blade first, stp: hilt first

tloz: brighter colors (will be more visible when the swelling and redness and blood go away lol), stp: muted/darker colors
