First of all, I did enjoy reading this book even though the first few pages felt a bit off, in terms of weird lines about the other protagonist, Monique Grands darker skin tone and her biracial background. It didn’t seem to fit in with the books general theme or atmosphere.
After that little hiccup in the beginning, Reid is able to captivate the reader in the story with her beautiful writing style and masterful storytelling.
