in reality, i think the thing i love about writing really long fics is being truly immersed in the world. i love when a fic idea grabs you by the throat and draws you in and suddenly you're living and breathing it. i'd love to know your perspective on this too!

i keep saying that alta is going to be the longest thing i ever write, but if eurotrip ever sees the light of day i am a little worried it could potentially crack the 200k...tbc lol.

Honestly I haven’t Processed S4 enough to wrap my head around S5 theories, but the one thing that’s really been stuck in my brain is the whole time piece, specifically how we learned the UD is stuck on the day Will went missing. That, coupled with the fact that the Duffles have said S5 is going to be fairly Will-centric, or at least his arc will be addressed in a full-circle way (paraphrasing, but that’s what I took from it), has my head spinning with theories, which at this point are just questions kdsjs. Does it mean that Will actually holds the power to turn back the clock, to undo or weaken Vecna’s force? I imagine he’s going to have to enter the UD, whether physically or mentally, and face Vecna, and I wonder if he’s going to do so by retracing his S1 steps, and through that process we’ll get the reveal/explanation for the time thing. I’ve seen people theorize that the reason Will survived in the UD that long was intentional planning by Vecna, that that’s how he was given ‘powers’ or whatever psychic connection the two have, so to me it feels natural that he would have to dive back into the whole beginning of it. 

I’ve always thought the Will & El parallels are interesting, but I’ve personally viewed them as more of a metaphorical/stylistic thing rather than concrete evidence that the two are linked or mirrored or whatever, but given what I just said, I do think El will be a huge part of this too. I mean the UD was stuck on the day Will went missing and El escaped, after creating the tear that allowed the UD to bleed into Hawkins, so how could it not, right? Also with what we saw of El going into Max’s headspace to try and save her, I wonder if she’ll do the same for — or maybe in conjunction with — Will. That would be very full circle too; she had to do that in S1. Some have said that the Demo took Will when it was really searching for El, so the two of them having to fight together makes natural sense I think.

Basically all I can cobble together from that is I think the frozen-in-time aspect was a specific, intentional move by Vecna, and Will is linked to it. We know the UD existed before Vecna got there, so I think he’s responsible for whatever the time aspect means and its purpose. Sorry that was so chaotic lolll but it’s been a big jumble in my mind since watching!

A random headcanon: because I always project when characters are artists, she can paint but pencils are her preferred medium :D

General Opinion over said character: she's lovely! One of the few HoO characters I genuinely love. I love that she's badass but sweet. I found some of the female characters hard to like because of Rick's internalised misogyny, for some reason he thinks it's a good idea to have his female characters be "not like other girls" and misandrist, so props to Hazel for being none of that. She's just cool and likeable, also I love that she's an artist.

A ship I have with said character: Mariano! They're adorable.

A BROTP I have with said character: Isa Isa Isa I have Very strong feelings about cousins close in age growing up as siblings and being besties. The movie hinted at it too with them holding hands at Antonio's ceremony and Dolores being 100% loving and supportive to Isa even though she was in love with Mariano. I imagine even though she has a teasing sibling relationship with Camilo she and Isa are bros in a Different way and even after Isabela drifted away from her sisters because of Golden Child Pressure she remained close with Dolores. And speaking of Golden Child Dolores was always in Isa's shadow (I think Jared Bush confirmed it too) but I imagine she never held it against her and there was never any animosity between them even though there could have been.

A NOTP I have with said character: everyone except Mariano ig

A random headcanon: she convinced Casita to help her communicate with Bruno when he was living in the walls. She'd keep food aside for him and get him presents on holidays which she would give Casita to pass to Bruno through the walls. He always thanked her knowing she could hear him :')

General Opinion over said character: my girl! It pains me thinking of her gift, hearing Everything (and probably being stigmatized for it) is so. traumatizing? Also I realised she had to hear her parents and tio & tia have sex, please help this girl she's just so. I feel like she became very wise very young and that breaks my heart. She has to bear so much in silence and she's so kind too (her lines in WDTAB and being supportive of Isabela *weeps*). She's beautiful too T_T
