I'm in love with the first chapter of Not so Different. How did you come up with the idea?
So I have a bunch of witing bingos I'm doing right now that are all due in December and I was looking for ways I could hit multiple fills for each one because I like blacking out cards. Two of the bingos have steve as a character to write for and I thought if I could put them together in a way that made a single series that would be good. Especially if I could write it as a drabble series then it would get written quickly. I could publish it rapidly. I’d be closer to the goal.
So, anyway. There were two prompts that seemed to match. Villain/Hero friendship. Enemies to friends to lovers.
but I was like who would Steve be friends with that’s a villain? He’s not about to fall in love with and bone Red Skull. So I thought maybe it was someone who skirted the same laws he did but for a reason that he didn’t straight up understand but if he found out about he’d agree with. Animal Rights/Liberation seemed to fit with that to me and so using the prompts of the bingo I formed a story about Steve becoming friends with and then dating someone who breaks into places and steals abused animals.
