the fate of “Chamber of Secrets”

Hey guys!

I know, I know, I literally have no excuse to why I disappeared without an explanation. Life just got in the way and I just couldn’t find the motivation to keep up here on tumblr. 

I’m here because I feel like I owe whoever read (or is still reading) my Chamber of Secrets series an update of some sorts. I know I promised you guys that I’ll finish the fic and even talked about a sequel. Trust me, the last thing I wanted was to abandon this fic because, god, I worked so hard on this one and re-reading it last night, I fell in love again with the character I had written. 

I did write a couple of chapters after the last one I posted and I was aiming to finish this series before Black Panther was released because I knew that whatever I wrote would have never live up to what Marvel created. But as you can see, I failed to do so and I just don’t feel like keeping up this fic without acknowledging the Black Panther world that exists in canon. I especially feel weird continuing this fic without putting Shuri in, because honestly, Shuri is what I aspire my character to be and it would just be weird, right? To talk science and tech development without writing Shuri in?

Trust me, I tried writing her in but with how far this fic has gone, I couldn’t figure out how to insert her into the fic all of the sudden. 

So I guess what I’m trying to say is that I won’t be continuing this series, but for those of you who are still interested in how they end up, here’s some notes I’ve written as an outline. A coda, if you will.

After their confession, Y/N and Bucky had a moment to themselves to think about what it all meant and what they wanted to do going forward. They decided that even though the feeling was mutual, they both realized that pursuing a romantic relationship was something more than they could handle so they remained friends (but with feelings).

Everett Ross eventually joined Sharon in their quest to protect Steve and Bucky, and somehow ended up in Wakanda with the rest of the outlaws.

Tony managed to get Sharon to tell him where Steve was and flew to Wakanda. Steve was expecting a fight but instead, Tony came with a plan to help Bucky recover. 

The UN eventually caught up with them and requested that T’Challa release Bucky into their custody. Bucky, newly recovered and free from the triggers, decided to come with them with the promise of a fair trial back in the US. 

It was his first choice as a free man, to take responsibility of his actions. 

Y/N got that much deserved vacation to an elephant sanctuary and continued to email Bucky back and forth. 

Bucky got the arm that was promised, but instead of getting the arm with all the tech and abilities that was pitched, Bucky decided to have a plain prosthetic arm that will not be able to be used for fighting. He was done and he wanted to live a normal life, where he wasn’t considered a danger to civilian.

That’s all I’ve got for this one folks, I’m really sorry I wasn’t able to continue this but hey, at least we got Shuri now.
