My new desktop set up has helped me focus a little more on doodling. I am so out of practice, y’all. |’D;;;
It’s been nice to get back at it a little bit as we’ve had severe thunderstorms and a heat wave over these last two weeks. I’m also relearning my characters and starting to write more, too, but of course, work and family/ friend/ partner life is where I’ve chosen to spend a lot of my time nowadays.
I’ve recently been exploring a modern universe with these two where Kiana is a city tour guide and Alma is a receptionist at a mechanics shop.
As always, you can find me more active on Instagram at mi_mi_mi_me
With salsa performances and work conferences finished for the summer, I found myself doodling this weekend. I’m pretty certain I don’t know how to draw anymore (it’s been months) but at this point i don’t care because I missed filling out character sheets.
I’ve been playing a couple of different games on my phone during my commute and one of the new ones that I was introduced to was Fallen Hero: Rebirth. So here’s my version of Sidestep - Alma de la Luna.

I was away at a conference so wasn't able to complete some inktober drawings in time. So here's to days 11 thru 15! Some of the characters were made up on the spot.
Eventually, I’d like to doodle family trees for all of my major characters since family is important for most of them. Decided to draw the de la Luna family first.
At some point, I’ll stop drawing busts.
Victoria, Amado, Alma, Rey, and Jacinta are depicted as their current age. Anjo is drawn as his “death” age, which is how he appears in his current universe as a reaper.
I haven’t drawn Alma in forever, but when I was talking about the idea of a character that was an undocumented immigrant who was separated from her parents and trying to make a living... well she came to mind. It worries me that having a Latina character that works as a seasonal worker and also a cleaner during off season is stereotypical, but then again... that’s a real thing that happens. I think she’s a little older in her revamp. No white hair.
Daughter of Hermes, potential Wind guardian/ wizard (apprentice or NPC... not sure) but yup. She’s actually someone I want to explore a little more so if anyone has questions or wants to help ... let me know
Although it's hard to imagine them existing in the same universe (Rogelio is an exorcist dealing with demons while Alma's original universe is far more sci-fi) ... I kinda imagine Alma and Rogelio being related in some way and having a brother-sister relationship.
