“Almost Paris,” the first full-feature film of director Domenica Cameron-Scorsese and writer Wally Marzano-Lesnevich, takes a fascinating, but hard look at the U.S. mortgage-lending crisis from the perspective of the people who suffered through it. This is an brilliant film that really illuminates the struggle and hypocrisy of the government and banking system, but it also shows the hope, tenacity and strength of people pushed to their limits.
