Norman shook his head at the sight. How the Hell did Harry ever hope to be taken seriously by anyone if he allowed himself to look sloppy? It was as if Harry wanted to make a fool out of himself to spite his father. True, it wasn't especially important around their home, but if Harry was in the habit of sitting a certain way at home, Norman could only imagine how he conducted himself where others could see.

"I raised you to hold yourself with dignity and pride. You're an Osborn."

If Harry was to be Norman's heir, he needed to be worthy of it. As far as Norman was concerned, he was doing the boy an essential service.

she lets out a bitter chuckle, shaking her head in disbelief as she wipes the blood from his nose. truth be told, she doesn't know everything -- nobody wants to tell her the full story -- but she had to make sure that he was okay.

        ❝      okay , don’t make it a big deal — but i may or may not inform mom about your birthday . and she may or may not have just forced me to bake a cake for you . also , i knew what’s sort of cake you like . if that’s weird , we both can pretend i never said that .       ❞      and she’s trying not to make it sound like nothing’s out of place , like this is normal , but she may have also sort of bought him this lame keychain from the time she visited a relative out of state ‘cause it reminded her of him (it’s a keychain of a grumpy dog holding a sign saying ‘bitch better have my money’) even though it cost her 20 bucks. and, yeah, maybe harry’s been thrown this fancy-ass birthday batch because why wouldn’t he have one ? still . he’s a friend. and mj doesn’t have much of those . so it should be fine , right ? doing these sort of stuff ? probably . she’ll deal if it isn’t .
