A tropical take on a classic burger is the Aloha Teriyaki Shrimp Burger. These tasty shrimp patties have teriyaki and pineapple flavors mixed in, making a sweet and savory dish that's great for a summer cookout or any time you want a taste of the islands.
Ingredients: 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined. 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce. 1/4 cup pineapple juice. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup green onions, chopped. 1/4 cup red bell pepper, finely chopped. 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 whole wheat burger buns. Lettuce leaves. Sliced pineapple. Sliced red onion.
Instructions: In a food processor, pulse the shrimp until coarsely chopped. In a bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, teriyaki sauce, pineapple juice, garlic, ginger, breadcrumbs, green onions, red bell pepper, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking. Grill the shrimp burgers for about 3-4 minutes per side or until they are cooked through and have grill marks. Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until they are lightly browned. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by a shrimp patty, a slice of pineapple, and some sliced red onion. Top with the upper bun, and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious Aloha Teriyaki Shrimp Burger!
