The Original Mate- Alpha!Elijah/Alpha!Klaus
I made a post a few months ago about whether people would want to read about Alpha!Klaus and Alpha!Elijah sharing a mate that Rose and Trevor brought to Elijah when they brought Elena and quite a few people liked the post and even commented on it but quite a few more started direct messaging me and asking for me to write the story so here we are.
I don’t know why so many of you were Rabid for this idea but you were so I hope it is everything you wanted it to be…it’s a bit tame and I may just write another one with more smut in it, we’ll see…

‘Do you remember how I asked about the paintings all those years ago?’ Rose asked, Elijah’s head tilting sideways in confusion. ‘Klaus would paint her over and over again, draw her just the same. You told me when I asked that when you were turned your mother told you that you all had soulmates. Klaus and yourself shared a soulmate as did Kol and your other brother Finn-you told me about how you dreamed of her, how Klaus dreamed of her but that the difference was he could get his thoughts down onto canvas and paper…I knew who she was immediately-the second I saw her. When we took the Doppelgänger we took your mate too.’ She explained.
Elijah’s expression was stoic as he seemed to consider the possibility, not really believing her. So many people had heard about their mate over the years and so many had tried to use that to manipulate them-Elijah would never fall for that and neither would Klaus-not without proof.
‘If you actually have what you say you do, you will be granted your freedom…but if you’re lying to me Rose-‘
‘Why would I lie about this? Expose myself and Trevor just to get ourselves killed when your Omega isn’t here? I’ve made mistakes when it comes to you and your brother but I’m not stupid Elijah.’ Rose defended herself, turning and leading the Original down the hall towards the Omega he and his younger brother have been waiting 1000 years for.
‘I don’t believe you.’ Elena snapped, glaring at Trevor who was glaring right back-neither realizing that the Omega laid out on the couch was slowly opening her eyes.
‘What does it matter to me if you believe me? I know what’s true, besides, your world is going to be turned upside down eventually. A vampire can’t find their mate until the Original whose blood they share finds theirs…who knows? Maybe after we hand the little Omega over to Elijah you will find out you really are Stefan’s mate…or maybe you’re Damon’s? Or maybe it’s neither of them and all you really are is a stupid little unlovable doppelgänger?’ Trevor teased, clearly finding the whole thing comical. Trevor had hated the Originals ever since he was turned but his hatred for Klaus was matched only by Mikael’s hate for him after the Original Alpha was the reason in his mind that he lost Katerina-and now here he is, about to hand Elijah his and Klaus’ mate and the Doppelgänger?! How is that fair?
‘You don’t know anything! You’re just bitter because you couldn’t have Katherine in the end but she didn’t love you any more than she loved anyone!’
‘Wow, feeling vindictive today, Elena?’ Y/n mumbled as she sat up, pressing her hand to the back of her head and hissing in pain.
‘Oh yeah, careful, I hit you a bit hard before I dropped you in the trunk. Sorry.’ Trevor stated, not sounding the least bit sorry in any way.
‘Thanks…’ she grunted, glaring up at him.
‘Watch yourself Omega, I can still take you apart before either of your Alphas gets the chance and you’ll be begging me for more by the time he walks in. Don’t forget, you’re just a useless little Knot-Hole. God only knows why the Originals want their Omegas so much.’ He scoffed.
‘Why is he using slurs against me? I just woke up, what the fuck did I do?!’ Y/n questioned, looking at Elena and pretending not to care about the use of the term “Knot-hole” despite pushing back tears.
‘Apparently you’re the Omega of an Original or 2 and he really hates them cause Katherine.’ Elena explained and she nodded in understanding. Katherine gave all Omegas a bad name.
‘Wait! How the hell does he know that I’m their Omega? I don’t-‘
‘Because Klaus used to spend all of his free time painting your face over and over again. You’d think eventually he’d get tired of looking at you but no, he just painted another one.’ Trevor said, rolling his eyes.
‘So wait, you’re angry with me because some Original has good taste and painted my face a lot? Or you’re angry because you’re a fucking moron and fell for Katherine’s “I love you” bullshit and it got you in trouble so now you’re taking it out on Klaus’ Omega?’ As Y/n said the last word his hand seized her throat and squeezed a choked gag out of her, her oxygen instantly cut off as she was yanked up onto her feet and standing on her toes.
‘Let Her Go!’ Elena demanded, grabbing his hand and digging her nails in to get him to release her.
‘You mouthy little Omega! One more fucking word from you and I’ll send you back to that Hybrid Heat-Stall completely gaping! I can’t wait to see how much those Originals adore you when you’re used up and a waste of 1000 years waiting for them!’ He snarled, his hand squeezing tighter to the edge of breaking her neck just before a loud throat cleared causing both Trevor and Elena to freeze-one choking the Omega while the other tried to pry his hand off.
‘I must admit Trevor, this is a strange way to ask forgiveness.’ A posh voice spoke up-Y/n feeling her heart flutter despite its already quickening beat as her brain was deprived oxygen for even longer-her eyes flickering to meet his and hearing this Alphas deep growl as they did. Faster than the Omega could comprehend she was released-suddenly collapsing-and then held firmly to a wonderfully scented chest which she only realized as she finally took a breath, coughing and choking into this man’s tie. ‘There you are lovely Omega, breathe! Just like that, good girl!’ Y/n whined at the deep, sweet voice as it said the words she’s wanted to hear since the day she presented. As her body began to do what she told it to again she clutched tightly to his suit. ‘I’ve got you Omega, you’re safe now, so safe with me Princess.’ He swore, lifting her higher until her legs were wrapped around his waist and he was holding her as close as he could without harming her.
‘Elijah, I had no idea he would-‘
‘Shut Up!’ He snapped, holding Y/n with one arm as his other hand moved to clutch Elena’s chin and look at her closely. ‘My Omega and a human doppelgänger, you’ve kept your promise Rose Marie, you are free to go-do not put yourself in the same position for the same idiot you tried to save before-Leave Rose!’ Elijah demanded and though she hesitated as she looked at her friend that had his neck snapped on the floor, she did speed out of the house knowing that there was nothing that she could do against Elijah. ‘Can you tell me your name, Princess?’ He asked her, feeling her rest her head on his shoulder.
‘Y/n.’ She told him, her voice coming out painfully and sounding just the same.
‘That’s lovely…sadly I have a promise to keep now. Smile for me, gorgeous.’ He told her and she did as he held up his phone and took a picture of her, tapping his phone screen several times before moving to sit on the couch and biting into his wrist. ‘Drink, Princess. Alpha can’t have his precious Omega bruised and in pain, can I?’ She did as he said without complaint, wanting to make her Alpha happy and also wanting the throbbing in her head to stop. ‘Elena, if you take one more step towards that door I will have to break your legs to ensure you stay put while I tend to my Omega.’ The Beta girls eyes went wide and she stopped moving just as Elijah’s phone rang. ‘Niklaus…Yes, she’s right here…I still haven’t forgiven you however we made a promise and I would hope regardless of our feelings you would still honor your word when it comes to our Omega…unfortunately that will have to wait just a moment, Trevor seemed to take it upon himself to nearly snap our girls neck he choked her so hard…Yes, obviously.’ He looked down at me as I pulled away from his wrist. ‘Niklaus would like to speak with you.’
Y/n took the phone from Elijah and put it to her ear. ‘Hello?’ There was a second of pause before he spoke and she instantly worried that he had hung up though she didn’t know why.
‘You have no idea how wonderful it is to hear your voice, Omega…I must have painted you 10,000 times by now and I still haven’t gotten it right.’
‘Oh my God, your accent is so cute!’ She exclaimed, loving his voice. ‘And I can pose if you want to try getting it right.’
‘Oh, you will definitely be posing for me! In every position and in various states of dress.’ Her eyes widened as she felt her cheeks heat up.
‘That is a lovely blush, Princess.’ Elijah stated, leaning forward and kissing her cheek making the blush darken even more.
‘Blushing for me already, hmm? Just wait until I get my hands on you, little Bunny.’ She couldn’t help her whimper as she imagined that, already horny just having one Alpha this close, not even mentioning that his hand is tracing up her thigh, his face nuzzling into her neck. ‘Your breathing is unsteady now, is my brother playing nice with you?’

Just as she was about to cum, one hand clutching the phone as the other held tight to Elijah’s hair there was suddenly a loud bang from upstairs. ‘Ow!’ She cried as Elijah jerked, his fangs still in her neck biting down too hard and causing her pain before he pulled back, looking up before turning back to her, his eyes softening as she could hear Klaus asking what had happened.
‘Is there someone else here?’ Elijah asked her and she shrugged.
‘I don’t know, I woke up on this couch like 5 minutes before you came in.’ She explained and he growled, moving her to sit on the couch instead of his lap. ‘No, don’t go.’
‘I’ll be right back, Alpha is going to go kill whoever interrupted us. Just sit with Niklaus, it’s okay.’ He promised, kissing her forehead and making her smile, humming contently.
‘Okay…’ she mumbled as Elijah walked out of the room, Elena following.
‘What’s going on Bunny?’ Klaus asked.
‘There was a noise upstairs and Elijah bit me too hard…my neck is bloody.’ She whined. ‘He went to see what it was and Elena went too…can you come here too now Alpha? Want you both to be here with me…wanna feel your hands on me too Klaus.’ She admitted, hearing him groan at her response.
‘Bunny, my bag is already packed, just tell me where to go.’ That was the moment she realized, she had no clue where she was.
‘I…I don’t know…Trevor hit me in the head really hard and I woke up here with Elena. Then Trevor got mean and called me a Knot-Hole and started choking me-that’s when Elijah got here-‘
‘Bunny, I want you to do something for me, okay? Go to the settings in Elijah’s phone and turn on the location. Can you do that for me, Bunny, please?’
‘Yes Alpha…’ she turned the phone and did as he said before putting it back up to her ear. ‘It’s on.’
‘That’s Alphas good girl…wow, you are really close to Mystic Falls, that’s a strange coincidence.’ He laughed humorlessly.
‘No, that’s where we live.’ Y/n told him and he paused for a moment before beginning to realize that there was more to this than just Elijah finding their Omega.
‘Bunny, who is Elena?’ He finally asked.
‘Elena Guilbert, everyone is obsessed with her cause she’s Katherine’s doppelgänger and she’s human so apparently that’s a big deal.’
‘She’s Katerina’s doppelgänger and she’s human?!’ He questioned as if he couldn’t quite comprehend what she had said.
‘No! Are you gonna be obsessed with her now too? Both Salvatore’s and now my own Alpha?! Are you kidding me?!’
‘Oh, Bunny! No, don’t get upset Omega, it’s not like that. I need a human Petrova doppelgänger to break my curse. I can assure you that I am not in love with your friend…you’re sure she’s a Petrova doppelgänger?’ He asked and she sighed heavily.
‘Yes Klaus, I’ve met Katherine, many times! Every time worse than the last, thank God she’s stuck in the tomb now. She’s obsessed with that stupid Sun and Moon curse. Honestly it was all very annoying! Please don’t tell me you’re obsessed with that dumb curse too?’
‘No! No Bunny, there is no Sun and Moon curse. The curse is on me and I need all of that to break it! I can…I can break the curse-I just need to find the moonstone and-‘
‘Wait! It’s a curse on you?’ She asked, realizing that this was all very important to her Alpha.
‘Yes, I’ll explain everything when I get there, I promise, I just need to find-‘
‘The moonstone is here-well, there. It’s in the tomb with Katherine.’ There was a long pause before he spoke again.
‘You’re sure about all of this?’ He asked.
‘Yes, I’m sure Alpha. The moonstone and Katherine are in the tomb in Mystic Falls, Elena is a human doppelgänger and she’s here with me. Well, she’s in this house with me and Elijah, I should go check on them…’ she mumbled the last part more to herself.
‘Okay, Bunny? Alpha needs you to listen to me, can you do that?’
‘Yes Alpha, I’m listening.’
‘Do Not tell anyone that the Sun and Moon curse isn’t real! Don’t say anything to anyone about me, okay?’ He asked and she could tell that this was very important to him immediately.
‘Okay. I won’t say anything to anyone…are you still coming?’
‘Yes Omega, I’m definitely coming.’ Y/n paused, not liking the way that he’d said it. ‘Omega?’ He questioned when she didn’t say anything but she still didn’t speak. ‘Y/n?! Answer me!’
‘Shouldn’t have said anything…you’re not coming for me anymore, you’re coming for Elena, because of course you are. Everything is always about Elena!’ Y/n groaned, standing up from the couch and walking into the hall despite her dizziness after Elijah feeding from her.
‘Y/n! That is not true, I am coming for you, this is just a plus. A huge plus-‘
‘No, I’m the plus. Klaus is gonna come break his curse but oh don’t worry Y/n, he’s coming to get laid too so your Alpha will stop by and see you on the way!’ Tears had started welling up in the Omegas eyes and she was trying not to let them fall.
‘Y/n, stop! You don’t understand-‘
‘I understand just fine. It’s about Elena, everything is always about-Elijah?’ Y/n froze as she walked through the double doors and saw Elena hugging Stefan and Damon stood beside Elijah who was completely gray with a coat rack shoved through his chest.
‘Om-‘
‘ELIJAH! NO! ALPHA!’ She screamed, dropping the phone as she ran forward and grabbed ahold of his face and searching his eyes for any sign of life.
‘He’s dead Y/n, there’s a giant stake in his chest.’ Elena stated as if it were so simple and he hadn’t mattered to anyone.
‘No! Alpha! Please, No?!’ Y/n wailed, her legs giving out before she hit the ground painfully, tears now streaming down her face as she looked up at her Alphas hollow eyes.
‘Elena…did you know that he was her Alpha?!’ Damon demanded, looking over at her angrily.
‘No!’
‘Yes! Yes You Did! I’ll Kill You!’ Y/n shouted, lunging forward and trying to grab Elena, Stefan shoving her away too roughly, her body hitting the wall beside the dead vampire, here head cracking against it hard. Damon caught her before she could hit the floor again and glared at his brother.
‘Jesus Stefan! She’s human-and an Omega on top of that! You didn’t have to shove her that hard!’ He insisted, holding the Omega to his chest and checking the back of her head.
‘She was trying to hurt Elena-‘
‘She couldn’t have no matter how hard she tried! She’s a Beta, she’s twice as strong as Y/n is! What is wrong with you two?!’ Damon hissed, turning Y/n’s head to look at him. ‘Omega? Can you hear me? Y/n!’
‘She’s fine, Elijah gave her plenty of his blood-‘
‘That doesn’t mean she isn’t hurt now, Elena!’ Damon lifted Y/n against his chest, laying her head on his shoulder. ‘I’ve got you, Omega. You’re okay.’
‘No…want my Alpha…’
‘I’m here, Omega. You’re okay-‘
‘No! Want My Alpha! Let Me Go! Let Go!’ Y/n shouted, trying to shove Damon away from her but he was too strong, holding her to his chest and picking her up.
‘Let’s go. I’ll heal her in the car…I can’t believe you knew he was her Alpha and you didn’t say a thing Elena! Don’t you Ever call yourself a good friend to anyone again. You understand that this could easily kill her!’
‘Oh, don’t worry. Elijah wasn’t her only Alpha, she still has Klaus left. You’re going to have to kill him too.’ Elena stated as if it was a fact she was reading out of a book, Y/n screaming and trying to lunge forward at her from Damon’s arms. Though the vampire did not let her go she did get close enough to dig her teeth into the Beta girls arm, clamping down and refusing to let go as Elena screamed. Y/n tasted blood but she didn’t care as she bit down harder, Damon holding her nose so that she would let go to breathe before realizing she was holding her breath and grabbing her lower jaw, prying it open before Elena pulled away, arm now covered in blood. ‘What is Wrong With You?!’ She snapped, Stefan healing her quickly.
‘I won’t let you hurt my Alpha! You killed Elijah but I won’t let you get Near Klaus you vicious bitch!’ Damon lifted Y/n up quickly, carrying her to the car and sitting her beside him in the back seat while Stefan drove.
‘Relax Omega.’ Damon insisted, trying to pin her down after she unlocked and opened the door while the car was in motion. ‘Sleep!’ He compelled, watching her fight as hard as she could though she only kept her eyes open for about 10 seconds before she was out.
It only took Klaus a few hours to get a flight and get to Virginia, the jet taking about 7 1/2. Elijah called him about halfway through his flight and explained what had happened. They were both instantly worried about the relationship that their Omega had with the oldest Salvatore-Klaus not liking the way he had talked to her and clearly been touching her. He was also worried at the attitude he had gotten from her when he showed any kind of interest in Elena. Klaus was obviously not interested in any sort of way for anything other than breaking his curse, he’d learned his lesson with the first one he’d fallen in love with as a human-and his Omega was everything to him. They had been waiting for her for 1000 years, he wasn’t about to lose her now.
‘We need to get her out of there.’ Elijah insisted, watching their mate as she sat on the couch with Damon, snuggled up in a bunch of blankets. ‘He’s put her in a makeshift nest, what’s next? Him marking her beside mine?!’
Klaus could see how enraged his elder brother was which was abnormal for him however he knows how desperate Elijah has always been for their Omega and it was very likely that he would kill Damon just to keep him away from Y/n-which would upset their Omega, God knows how much. ‘We don’t know what she will do if we hurt him, we need to focus on getting her out of the house since we can’t get in. I have my witch working on Katerina so we can focus on our mate, for now you hide.’
‘Why? What are you going to do, Niklaus?’ Elijah asked, not trusting his younger brother when it comes to bright ideas-they typically end in slaughter.
‘I’m going to knock.’ He said as if it were obvious, disappearing for a moment before Elijah saw him reappear on the porch with a gift bag as he truly did as he said, knocking on the door. A second later it was opened and Klaus saw Damon standing there with a blanket smelling way too much like their Omega wrapped around his shoulders. He was only able to stop himself from killing the young vampire as his logical side reminded him that his Omega might not forgive such a killing… ‘Good evening sir, I’m looking for Y/n. I have a delivery for her.’ He stated and Damon looked curious.
‘Delivery this late? That’s weird, but I’ll take it.’ He said, reaching out only for Klaus to pull it back.
‘Sorry. I was told specifically to only give it to her.’
‘Who told you that?’
‘Klaus.’ He stated as if it were obvious and Damon’s eyes went wide.
‘Where is he?! Is he here?!’ Damon demanded but Klaus just repeated the first thing he had said and he knew Damon assumed that he was compelled. ‘Y/n! You have a delivery!’ He called out and Klaus heard a groan before coming face to face with and smelling his Omega for the first time, nearly falling to his knees.
‘Who would send me anything?’ She wondered, and he handed her the bag as she stepped over the threshold, opening it and smiling as she pulled out a large fluffy black and red checkered Sherpa blanket.
‘I had hoped it could be the start of a new nest for you, without another Alphas scent in it.’ He told her and she looked up, clearly confused for a second before her eyes widened and he knew she had recognized his voice.
‘Klaus?’
‘What?!’ Damon exclaimed before Klaus grabbed him, breaking his neck just before he could put his hands on his Omega again.
‘I told you I would come for you. You are the most important thing in the world, Love.’ He swore, moving just in time to catch her as she flung herself into his arms, hugging him tightly.
‘I was so scared you weren’t gonna come! Or that you would just come for Elena-Don’t let go!’ She begged, holding onto him tightly and he lifted her up into his arms as she nuzzled into his neck and took in his scent which she clearly loved.
‘I told you! Breaking my curse is important but nowhere near as important as my mate! I need Elena so that I can kill her, I need you so that I can cherish you. Big difference, Bunny.’
‘I know what you said, I just…I’m sorry…’ she mumbled and Klaus sighed, kissing her head as he turned around and walked off the porch, taking the blanket and wrapping it around her as he felt her catch a chill.
‘No more letting other Alphas into your nest from now on, Omega. You’re lucky that we’re letting that one live.’ Elijah spoke up, appearing beside them and adjusting the blanket so that it covered all of her skin.
‘Elijah…Alpha! You’re Alive!’ She cried, tears falling from her eyes quickly and he took her from his brother, holding her tightly.
‘Of course I am. We would never leave you, Y/n.’
‘But I saw you die!’ Klaus wiped the tears falling down her cheeks, not wanting to see their Omega cry for any reason.
‘I’m an Original. It takes much more than that to kill us, don’t you worry about that. Now, we have a big pile of blankets and pillows waiting for you in a hotel room in the next town. How does that sound?’ He asked, watching her eyes brighten in excitement.
‘Sounds wonderful, Alpha! But…what about Klaus’ curse?’ She wondered, turning her head and looking at the man that she would later that night learn was actually a Hybrid.
‘I have several people collecting the things and people I need, but that’s not for sweet little Bunnies to worry about. Now let’s get you into a comfy nest, hmm?’ Y/n nodded, allowing the Alphas to take her wherever they deemed appropriate, not caring where they went as long as she was in their strong arms.
Klaus had made sure to get them into the penthouse suite until he could get an actual house that was up to his standards, never willing to let his Omega stay anywhere that wasn’t perfect or safe. She was too perfect to be allowed to stay anywhere else ever again.
