Naked and Unafraid

It's a relief.
The fog had come to steal her away from a world ravaged by war just as it was all about to end. Bombs had gone off all around the globe. Humanity was about to perish. But the fog carried her to a new door, a new world as she searched for a viable home.
She felt the change. Felt the feline grace of the panther growing within her.
Felt her bones shift, and fur sprout.
She was a beautiful black panther roaming around the forest of Beacon Hills. Her refuge at night was a burned out husk of a large family home.
She didn't know how to change back.
Her clothes were gone, and only the panther remained.
Was this what her life would be now? And animal?
She hunted.
She fed.
And now, her glowing golden eyes focused on a handsome man who smelled far to pleasing to her heightened senses.

“Well, then,” Cara started, giving the door to her truck a swift kick, the hinges making a loud, groaning noise as she opened it, “I guess it’s a good thing I’m not here to hunt wolves.” With that being said, she pulled her duffel bag out of the vehicle and slung it over her shoulder before slamming the door shut.

There was a wall around her — not made of stone or steel, but of FIRE, PURE FIRE, raging and brilliant and MERCILESS. It stretched wide across everything, feeding off the pain she never let anyone see, the hurt she masked in SHARPNESS and INTELLECT and perfectly chosen words. For days, maybe weeks, that wall had burned around her, and tonight she’d pushed it HIGHER, HOTTER, daring anyone to step too close. And DEREK HAD. She’d lashed out, knowing he could take it, knowing if he didn’t flinch, then maybe she wasn’t BEYOND REACH. But the flames didn’t extinguish when she screamed. They didn’t shrink when she trembled. They kept consuming until, without warning, they began to shift. Not because her anger was resolved, but because he didn’t DENY IT. He didn’t QUESTION the inferno she’d become. He stood INSIDE IT with her, HANDS BARE, EYES STEADY, not to calm her down, but to witness it. Something cracked.
That one gesture, that BRUTAL HONESTY in his voice, cracked something in her chest. Her body took in a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding for YEARS. A real one. DEEP and LOW and SLOW — like coming up from underwater, like WAKING. The heat under her skin gave way to something else, something COLDER and QUIETER, a sheen of sweat from the emotional fever breaking. Her rage hadn’t gone. It had settled. For the first time in forever, she felt the WEIGHT of her own body again: her PULSE in her throat, her SHAKING LIMBS, the ACHE just behind her ribs where she’d been holding back for too long. She felt small. Not weak — just REAL. And TIRED in a way that had nothing to do with sleep.
She didn’t cry. She wanted to — the tears were there, swelling behind HAZEL EYES GONE GLASSY AND BRIGHT, but LYDIA MARTIN didn’t fall apart LIKE THAT in front of people. Not even now. So she blinked. Once. Twice. Let the DEWDROPS CLING and STING and vanish. And when she spoke, it wasn’t eloquent, wasn’t pointed — just a soft, shivering breath of truth. ❝ 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰… ❞ That was all she had left. Her gaze lingered on the hand he offered: ROUGH, SOLID, STRANGELY GENTLE, and she hesitated. Trust didn’t come easy. Touch didn’t come easy. But slowly, deliberately, she REACHED. Pale fingers, ICE COLD, slid like silk across his palm, HESITANT BUT PRESENT. She didn’t hold on — not yet. But she touched. Let her skin register his. Let herself be held, even if only in the most FRAGILE way. Because in that moment, she wasn’t asking for COMFORT. She wasn’t asking to be SAVED. She just needed someone who wouldn’t let her BURN ALONE. And against all odds, HE HADN’T.
& * ------ derek.
well, at least their parents wouldn’t be home. this was the perfect opportunity for magnolia to bat her eye lashes at derek & BEG him to be in the kissing booth. his appearance would make or break it. she & stiles promised way too many girls that he’d be there. ‘ fuck. ‘ the word was whispered as she took another shot, moving her way towards the football player & the flavor of the week. typical.
clearing her throat, the ravenette hoped it would interrupt them long enought o ask what she wanted, ‘ derek, can i talk to you for a second ? ’
@alphabadass gets a random starter they never asked for
Erica knew that bringing this up now probably wasn’t ideal. Part of her was still basking in the aftermath, sated and lazy as she curled up against Derek’s side as they laid in her small twin bed. Her head rested on his bare chest as her fingers aimlessly trailed across the dips of his abs, legs tangled together under her covers. Her sheets would smell of his for days, and it made her wolf almost purr. But the question had been nagging in the back of her mind ever since they started.. fucking, so she tilted her head back as her fingers stilled.
“What did you mean when you had someone else in mind for me?”
closed starter || @alphabadass || bc it been a long ass time
❝ Hey stranger, ❞ the blonde grinned softly as her eyes sparkled happily, her bag thrown over her shoulder as she stood in the doorway of the Alpha’s home. ❝ That took longer than I thought... ❞ The woman’s face dropped, genuine remorse covering her features. ❝ ...I’m sorry. ❞ She had promised him that her excursion back to her homeland wouldn’t take long... but that was over two months ago. ❝ Things happened that were out of my control.... can you forgive me ? ❞
