“What is CONTROL? Is it to command and conquer? To understand and manipulate? Is it even possible? My name is Scott Conklin, and every day another superhuman idiot makes me wonder that. To hell if I know. To hell if anyone knows, trying to keep their own hides intact day in and day out. There is no control here, of yourself or any other damn thing you can think of. One day, I’m just some poor bastard with nothing to his name, and the next I’m running for my life faster than any car, or getting plowed through cars in-between saving people who were even worse off than I was. When was the last time I got to just sit on a couch an chill out with a controller in hand, with Mason and Lyn by my side? Now I haven’t heard a single blip from a good game or a word from either of them in three months since the world fell apart and I got turned into… this. At least I don’t look too bad. Lot better than the ones that turned into abominations like humanoid coral, or with too many arms and no legs. I still don’t know what’s up with that guy last week who was more hole than man. But, there’s some good still. Just a few people out here looking out for the little guys. Not sure if they were lucky or unlucky to avoid being Unleashed. The powers are nice, but the bodies are a mixed bag. Still being yourself is nice, but having no power here means you’re likely to end up under someone’s claws sooner rather than later.
