What would a (slightly mentally unstable) Knight of Time be like grimdark, as well as trickster?
P: You know, I spend a lot of time thinking about this question. Sorry that I haven't answered it sooner! I don't understand what you mean by mentally unstable, is it in the sense of how every character is slightly "unstable" before Grimdarkness? If so, I think that they would sort of be a normal Gridmark player?
Anyways, a lot of players tend to Grimdark by delving too deeply into their aspects. Since the Knight is a protective class, I find it likely that they went Gridmark because of an outside influence and are controlled into protecting said influence. That can be another player, the Horrorterrors, etc. The Knight would become distant with their comrades beforehand. They would likely hint at but never truly express how much they are falling apart before Grimdarkness, and most players will probably be surprised. The Knight of Time would use their powers normally, and would become extremely defensive. When Grimdark, I don't expect that they would have much change at all in their abilities or their personalities. In fact, I expect an almost caricature-like version of whatever caused their downward spiral to come out. One emotion that could fuel their Grimdarkness is the hopelessness of their situation, especially in a failed session. As the protector of Time, the Knight would see exactly how terribly they are doomed to fail, yet they would put a full effort into it. As for the session's outcome when they go Grimdark- it will go into disrepair and/or fall apart. This could even be a cause of a session's degeneration, since multiple Knights at a time could go Grimdark and influence the timeline. Depending on where they go Grimdark, the effects could cause irreversible damage. Conversely, if the Knight goes Grimdark due to another thing's will, they will do their bidding throughout the entire timeline.
Ah, yes, I wandered through the trickster section and took avid notes just for this.
It looks like they become a display of their aspects. Jane becomes full of life, overzealous, and quickly invites everyone to join her in her fun. Jake, on the other hand, becomes incredibly cheery and almost hopeful, making grand statements on how everyone should improve themselves, and spreading this feeling to Roxy. Roxy immediately gets drunk (consumption problem- see Rogue page) and shares her secrets (Rogue gives void, or secrets) with Dirk, namely her crush. Dirk joins in, but he doesn't show any of these symptoms of joy at all, showing a mastery of heart (himself, emotions) as the Prince of Heart! I figured it out! Oh, and remember how Caliborn said that it would literally advance them so far in the game and they suddenly became God Tier? I think that this is why! (I am actually so proud of my epiphany guys)
So, a trickster Knight of Time? Simple. They literally forego their false personality. They give their true face to everyone and do so loudly. Time plays into this in a strange way. I can see them becoming more morbid, randomly time travelling, and/or repeating things constantly. It would definitely be an interesting sight. (Sorry that I didn't write more ahh)
Sorry for the delay, and I really hope that this helps!~Mod P.
