introducing: alphonse edevane, professor of ancient runes

alphonse has dedicated his entire adult life to researching ancient spells, particularly runes, sigils, symbols, and other markings with which magic has been practiced, preserved, and passed on for generations. his studies have taken him far and wide, to archeological sites and institutions of knowledge all across the wizarding world. recently, he has settled down on a teaching position in hogwarts.

AU; when annabel cifuentes discovers a book filled with strange, ancient texts, upon touching it she utters a prophecy that spells the destruction of hogwarts. she must enlist the help of the professor of ancient runes, alphonse edevane, to decipher the book and stop her vision from coming true.

destiny isn't so easily avoided, however, and annabel and alphonse find themselves in for more than their bargained for. their race against time and fate brings the two closer but can their romance survive the trials ahead?
