You know I was just thinking of the Avatar fandom rising again because the show is on Netflix, and this thought literally just made me remember of one my highschool Rallies.
And the rallies are often themed around something.
The. Rally. Was. Avatar. Themed.
NOT KORRA, PURELY AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER.
It was amazing. There were posters all over the place, advertising the different elements.
If I remember correctly, some had puns.
Like air nomads will blow you away, and earthbenders will rock your world and etc.
And during the rally, there were games that would be tailored to the theme. (I will be honest, I don't remember the games)
(I also remember my friend Alex joking about how they shouldn't place air nomads next to the fire nation since fire grows by the amount of oxygen it gets.)
I think I was placed as an Air Nomad. I also think we were placed as the elements by the color of our class T-shirt color. ( It was a while ago, I know for a fact I am correct by the color, maybe not the labels)
Seniors were orange, so we were Air Nomads. ( Me and my friends were all Air Nomads)
Juniors were red, so they were fire.
Sophomores were purple, they were water.
Freshmen were green, they were Earthbenders.
I don't remember much, but I do remember having the time of my life there.
But I'm also going to be honest, at that time, I did watch Avatar so I knew what the hype was about. But I didn't know of how great the show was from a cinematic, theatrical, and analytical viewpoint and all the great character arcs and everything.
I may have been celebrating a show that I thought at the time was just a cartoon, but now that I know of how fantastic the show is for it's characters, music, arcs, story, animation, and themes, I will defend this show with all my heart and with everything I got.
Who knew that the show was going to be a cartoon cinematic masterpiece?
