Which fan fiction writer inspired your work the most?
None, really? That fic I mentioned last week, (Rich Dirt), influenced my pre-series L/V head canon, but there’s only so much influence you can draw from a 3K word fic. Otherwise, when I started writing, the fandom was going through a bit of a fanfic dry spell. It picked back up once the movie was announced.
There are definitely writers I would love to emulate. @ghostcat3000, for the way she uses words, and how she brings her scenes to life as if she’s actually there. @cheshirecatstrut, for her genius in finding patterns and connections, and always inspiring epiphanies. @bryrosea for the way she can make the simplest words do maximum emotional damage. So many others, with differing talents and skills I would love to emulate. But in the end, you can only work with the brain you have.
My brain struggles with bringing scenes to life, and in finding patterns, and conveying emotions without the most overused physiological clues. But I can plot like nobody’s business, and I’m fairly good at snark, and I have amazing people to help me grow in the other areas.
Not sure if I answered your question, or headed too far into tangent-land. In summary, I started the writing journey alone, and met some great people along the way who’ve helped me get better.
