WE ARE ANOTHER SPEAKING SPIRIT - JUST LIKE JESUS
Jesus spoke to things! Wherever we look in the Gospels we see Jesus speaking to things. He spoke to the wind and the rain, to the fig tree and mountains; He spoke to infirmities and diseases and demons. The list is unending, and we see that Jesus was not fussy what or whom He spoke to, just selective! When Jesus spoke to things He expected His words to happen - to see the manifestation of His words in this natural world. This is how Jesus lived, and this is how God intends us to live; to speak words and then see the result of our words in this world.
I want to tell you something I found most interesting, and very helpful in my understanding of this principal. The Hebrew word for “words” is devar - and the Hebrew word for “things” is devar - so if devar = words, and devar = things, then by the same token we can say that words = things. We can conclude that words spoken by us =things! This is awesome.
In Mark 11:14 we see Jesus speaking to a fig tree - “In response Jesus said to it (the fig tree which had no fruit on it), ‘Let no one eat fruit ever from you again.’ And His disciples heard it.” Then the next day, we see in verse 20 that, “as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots”. Peter exclaims in wonderment that the tree which Jesus spoke to (cursed) had withered away. So Jesus explains how to work this principle, this law.
First He tells us to, “Have faith in God”. This is always step one in everything we do. Jesus then continued, Mark 11:23 - “For truly, truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and cast into the sea’, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatsoever he says”. See how many times Jesus used the word “say”? This is how God’s system works, by saying. If we say, and don’t doubt but believe in our heart, then those things we say will come to pass, we will have whatever we say. This is how God did it, and this is how we are required to do it. Ephesians 5:1 tells us “to be ye therefore imitators of God as dear children”. How does God operate? He has the plan, the blueprint inside Him, so He speaks out His design, never doubting that it is going to come to pass, and then He sees the results.
God once told Charles Capps - “I planned for My people to have what they say, but instead they are saying what they have!”
I exhort you to start watching the words of your mouth. Have a positive attitude towards life and line your words up with the Word of God.
PSALM 19:14 - “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer.”
