SCREW YOU TODD HOWARD, I WIN 😂
Skyrim Endgame Headcanon: Dovakhin and Serana retire to Riverwood. Dovakhin had wanted to retire to Lakeview and build an estate, but Serana reminded him that since the "incident" Falkreath was crawling with inquisitors trying to root out a violent cult to Sheogorath. Jarl Balgruf had offered them a home in Whiterun insisting they should move into the city where it's safer (and his Thane could be closer), but relented when Dovakhin insisted it had to be outside Riverwood. It wasn't an insult, he was just trying to help his wife fulfill a dream. Balgruf had a deed written for a plot of land on the river just north of Riverwood. The two then set to integrating themselves into Riverwood, staying at the inn while they built their lodge. Dovakhin took up building their lodge half the week and assisting in Alvor's forge the other half. Alvor was sad to lose him when the lodge was finished, and a might bit miffed when he learned Dovakhin was opening his own forge shop. He calmed down when Dova explained he would solely be specializing in dragonbone and scale, magic weapons, and oddly wanted to start a line of replica legendary weapons and armor specifically for children. The Wuuthrad replica is one of his top sellers among all ages. Anything else would be sent Alvor's way. Of course on the side Dovakhin still took up contracts to clear out bandit camps, collecting the loot for scrape and repairing what ever Serana could sell it in her shop. Serana would help out at the Riverside Trader and the Sleeping Giant Inn, learning the ins and outs of the mercantile trade. When the lodge was finished she opened an apothecary in town, and swiftly became known as the place to buy healing items, along with armor and amulets thanks to her husband. (She deals blood potions out the back door, and makes the sale an opportunity to warn the buyer that the towns people are off limits) The town unfortunately is now home to an unsettling rumor that it's haunted. Very recently, some nights you can hear the shrieks and roars of what travelers claim to be the ghosts of dead dragons. Absolute hogwash though, if there was a dragon ghost Dovakhin would have already turned it's bones to armor. How? Ask Alvor, he can spin you some stories about the inside of Hero's Crucible. The truth is some nights Dova can't control the change and Serana has to take her doofy werepuppy on a walk through the woods to blow off excess energy. No one in town seems to question why the Apothecary is suddenly selling deer, bore, and bear meat stews but Serana is growing worried. Ever since Dovakhin's return from Solstheim he hasn't been his usual goofy self.
That's actually really domestic and soft and the ending worries me. I want this Dovahkiin to be okay! 😭
