And lets be real, sometimes you just need a good cry because it actually does release endorphins. Crazy stuff, right? god. siblings are so. its like i have to keep you safe. i want to wrap you up in blankets but i also want to smother you. i come to all your football practices and pretend i don’t know which jersey number is yours. i scroll through your baby photos but when i send them to you you leave me on read. whenever you like something i do, im not sure how to feel. because you’re so much like me and nothing at all and i want to be my own person. but you’re permanently strapped to my side and you hate it so i have to pretend i do too.

and i was a child. i deserved to feel like one but you were so small in my arms and it was like something in me died. do you know? do you know when you cried it broke my heart. i will make sure you never hurt again and i know you heard me. crying in the dark over my boyfriend. i was loud gasping sobs but i kept hoping it wouldn’t wake you. that you’d have a good day at school tomorrow. and you. you ignored me at dinner when i asked you about class. i hope you never hate me. its like i became a mother when you were born. im really so proud of you. are you proud of me? am i a sister worthy of your love?
