Hey is there anything in there that might not be appropriate for kids around 8-10? I'd like to get this for my daughter this sounds like something she would love!!!
That’s going to entirely depend on your parenting style. I think the first book is pretty much clean. There’s one reference to the fact that part of the scandal of Ruth’s husband being discovered as a robot would be that people would think she had “scandalous tastes to consider him a suitable bedmate”.
The second book has a rather clinical discussion of the robot in question not being anatomically correct and her having to explain sex to him. There’s then a chapter where they have to talk to an owner of a brothel to get information. Again, all of the language is either Victorian-style euphemism or very clinical.
One of the characters is shot and dies in the third book. The descriptions aren’t graphic, but it’s definitely a level of violence beyond the shooting lasers at robots that comes before.
So yeah, no swearing, occasional clinical or euphemistic references to sex, and PG-13 violence.
If anyone else has specific triggers or content warnings they’re wondering about, just let me know.
