The next time someone uses the "it's just a different art style" excuse for Rainbow's continued whitewashing, point out to them that there's an actual position on animation and marketing teams devoted to making sure the color palettes are correct bc shoddy color palettes can harm brand recognition (especially for such a fashion-centric franchise) so someone's technically not doing their job properly :3c
lol bold of you to assume Rainbow ever had that job available in the first place.
nah but fr if you’re ‘art style’ involves heavily lightening the skin of only your darker characters ive got some bad news

what are they doing now
apparently its a very popular AU right now to depict the diamonds as having won and enslaved everyone including elements like 'connie gets put in the human zoo'

if it makes you feel better, there's only so many themes in the world and we're all bound to put our own unique spin on them! The comic that I've been writing for years has the exact same plot as a cartoon that was made by the same studio that made FoodFight, but the execution is 100% different
but that’s the difference, yours is a comic and their’s is a cartoon, those two mediums have varied ways of telling the same story and even comic-to-show adaptions have to rip apart and mold the concepts and themes to fit into their respective mediums.
But mine isn’t; mine is a video game just like dr, and it has the exact same mechanics and concepts and plot exploration of character/player connection and it’s just too similar, everything is too similar, the game won’t be fun and as enjoyable as it couldve been if i hadn’t lolligagged and brought it out before dr came out, and now it;s just an expired concept thats gonna be forgotten and never thought about again all because i just couldn’t get my thoughts out in time
I always forget he was in that, too, and that Venture Bros actually came first
Bless all of you who have had to endure this dissonance for over a decade, you have my sympathies

I wonder if people just dumped all of the “aesthetic” (read: sfw lol) pics from those eroge VNs in bulk, way before there were translation teams and w/e dedicated to bringing them to wider audiences, and other people just latched onto them bc they were largely just pretty images that they could use for their youtube videos and myspace layouts and RPs and nobody really cared about the source except for the small circle of people who actually played visual novels
probably but thats the thing there are like, hardly any vn fans who particularly care about those games either like maybe theres 3 ppl and a paperclip who cared to know and they only care enough to write a wiki or know your meme page on the source
