Over the moon to be back @nuvodanceconvention! 🌛 Friday my contemporary solo, Loeil, choreographed by @grimesgirl00, received a DJ's Pick adjudication and fourth overall! My contemporary duet with @bunhead.bella, Confusing Happiness, choreographed by @grimesgirl00, took the stage for the first time and placed third overall! Saturday, I Need A Hero, choreographed by @ashleyjaclyn09 & @lexiiii.t @newleveldancecompany, took the stage and received DJ's Pick, First Overall NUbie Group, First NUbie Lyrical, and Best NU Nubie Group! I loved sharing the stage with @lyricallily @macey_strick @dancing_reesie_piecie @tinydancer_lainey & @dancer_reagan01 again! I had a great time @legacydancechampionships with my @newleveldancecompany team all weekend! We had many group dance awards and all 11 of my groups received platinums! @bunhead.bella and my duet, You Are My, choreographed by @ashleyjaclyn09 received a platinum, 1st place overall, and a judge's "All in the Details" award! My contemporary solo, Scarlett, choreographed by @ashleyjaclyn09 received a platinum and 1st place overall! My musical theatre solo, I Want to Be a Rockette, choreographed by @grimesgirl00, received a platinum, the title Mini Miss Legacy, and a judge's "Showstopper" award, and my jazz solo, Black and Gold, choreographed by @lexiiii.t received a platinum! All of my teammates were incredible as always, I love watching everyone and spending time with them! These weekends are long, but so special and so much fun!! Fun weekend @showbiztalent! It was great spending time & dancing with my team! I performed my duet, three of my new solos took stage for the first time, and all eleven of my group dances also for the first time this season! I went outside of my comfort zone and for the first time ever I did a musical theatre solo, I Want to Be a Rockette, choreographed by @grimesgirl00 - which I'm so proud to say received platinum, the Musical Theatre Icon Award and second overall in the Pre-Junior Diamond Division! My new jazz solo, Black and Gold, choreographed by @lexiiii.t, received platinum and the Jazz Icon Award, and my new contemporary solo, Scarlett, choreographed by @ashleyjaclyn09, received platinum and the Contemporary Icon Award! I also received a costume award! My duet with @bunhead.bella, You Are My, choreographed by @ashleyjaclyn09 received platinum and first overall! Around this time, last year, I was at @swingtacular - the Galactic Open. I just found some notes in my journal about what my Saturday at this event looked like, and thought it'd be fun to reminisce... ✨ 👽 • 12-1:30pm Teach private lesson • 1:30-2:15pm Quick run through of our routine • 2:30-3pm Quick nap 💤 • 3-3:45pm Prep for Jack & Jill competitions • 4-5:45pm Compete + wait for semi-finals to be announced • 6-7pm Find food to scarf down, then a quick power nap • 7-8:15pm Primp for Rising Star, put on costume 💄 💅 • 8:15pm Report to side ballroom to start warming up • 9pm ish PERFORM for all the lovely people! 💃🏽 • 9:45pm Pictures, wrap up, back upstairs to change clothes • 10pm Hurry back to the ballroom to watch the other amazing divisions 😲 • 11:30pm Drag myself back upstairs for a "quick nap," I tell myself... 😉 😒 • 11:45pm-2:30am "Nap" 💤 • 3pm Rally to go back to the ballroom to social dance 🤘 • 6:45-7:15am Shower + head to bed • 7:30am Set alarm for 12:15pm in order to pack and check out by 1pm Phew! While my current grandma-esque schedule doesn't mind being in bed before 11pm these days... I do miss the adrenaline rush of a solid performance day, as well. Until we can this again...
