alya gets some glowing comments on the ladyblog. the commenter isn't just enthusiastic about the coverage, either, but also seems knowledgeable about the subject of superheroes. alya throws herself at responding, and soon they have a riveting conversation going, not just touching on superheroes but also ideas like politics, justice, and media reality. they're really just chatting about anything, and they don't solve anything either, but alya just loves that she's able to have the conversations at all. she shares emails with this strangers and they continue talking there once it gets too embarrassing to drown the comments section. the stranger's email is the same as their ladyblog comments name, a homage to one of alya's favourite superheroes: UncannyValley1.

she eventually asks more about uv1. uv1 kind of answers - she says she's alya's biggest fan, that she lives in the us, that her mother works with superheroes. also, she says she wants to meet alya, if that's okay. alya is nervous about that, especially when she doesn't know if uv1 is genuine. but she asks marinette for help, and then she arranges a meeting - in paris, because uv1 says it's fine to meet there.

alya is reassured by that, but she still asks marinette to stand by as ladybug in case uv1 turns out to be a creep. she need not have worried - at meeting time, the real uncanny valley shows up, having just flown across an entire ocean.

"you - you're actually her?" says alya. "you've been my favourite superhero this whole time?"

uncanny transforms into aeon and looks quizzically at alya. "i thought majestia was your favourite," she says.

"she used to be," says alya. "but i haven't talked media philosophy with majestia for months, have i?"

aeon smiles. "well, you're my favourite journalist. that's why i wanted to meet you in the first place."

marinette... watches the magic happen. she watches alya falter into stutters and blushing, and is really looking forward to teasing her about it - after congratulating her on the new girlfriend, of course.
