ARTIST'S PROFILE
Amara Averion
Still reinventing herself, Amara Mikaela B. Averion, a 18-year-old Visual Arts scholar, one day decided to dye her hair during the quarantine. Besides that, she lived most of her life around Laguna but more frequently in Los Baños & Bay. Within six years in PHSA, it has given her the liberty to play around with the different mediums of art, ranging from painting to film media. Allowing her to engage with multiple outreaches and exhibitions outside PHSA.
For this year's exhibition, her work traverses and challenges how heteronormativity has shaped society to generalize the layers of gender expression and sexuality.
She's a frantic series binge-watcher that finished four seasons of Haikyuu in under two days. And while she tries to figure out all the mysteries she is yet to discover (for herself), one thing is for sure, she REALLY loves unicorns (and will one day, dye her hair with rainbows!). ~(☆▽☆)~
