“Gav! Gav! Gav!” Amy shouts excitedly throughout the season faction. She and Tarq had just returned from their ground floor adventure and running into a new face.
“Why the hell are you screaming?” Her sister Cara turns to face her.
“You'll see dear sister.” Amy grins and winks at her.
“Dear father, we're not going to have another fight on our hands are we?” Core asks nervously.
“No, Gaviel!” Amy shouts his name once more.
“Amy please, no one needs to know what I do with my personal life.” Tarq all but begs his sister not to tell the others what's going on.
“What Amy? What's so important?” Gaviel finally shows up to the season faction, a look of mild annoyance on his face.
“Tarquarn has a date.” She says excitedly.
“It's not a date.” Tarq mumbles, choosing to look at the floor rather than the room that was staring at him.
“Tarquarn has a date?” Torquaret questions.
“Yes.” Amy nods.
“No.” Tarq says quietly.
“With who?” Cetar asks.
“A demon named Adonis.” Amy supplies.
“Sounds like fun.” Tariel adds in. “What are you guys doing?”
“They're going out to dinner tonight at seven.” Amy answers for him.
“Sounds like fun.” Attarib muses.
“I'm not so sure how I feel about this.” Tarq says. “I didn't agree to a whole lot, I barely got a word in. Amy did all the talking really.”
“Amabiel.” Amatiel scolds her.
“What? If I didn't step in he would have froze up and start choking on his words. We all know how his people skills are.”
Everyone makes some kind of sound or gesture of agreement at that still finding it a little unfair of what their sister did by roping him into going on a date.
“It has be quite some time.” Guabarel puts in. “Maybe you should try putting yourself out there.”
“I don't know if I even am….that way.” Tarq struggles a little to put his sentence together.
“He wouldn't have said anything to you if you weren't.” Spugliguel offers.
“Our brother's right.” Tubiel nods in agreement.
“Tarq don't worry about it, you'll be fine.” Gargatel reassures him.
“And if for some reason it's not you're allowed to call an early night. That's how dating works.” Tariel smiles.
“Dating?! I never agreed to that. I thought it was going to be just the one.” Tarq starts to panic a little.
“Tarquarn breathe, it's okay.” Cara places both her hands on his shoulders and gets him to focus on her. “If he asks to see you again and you don't want to, you're allowed to say no. Just keep that in mind okay?”
“Okay.” Tarq nods.
“Don't worry about it little brother.” Commissoros throws an arm over his shoulders and pulls him close. “Everything will be fine, it all sounds like you're just nervous. It's been awhile since you've played this game.”
“I hardly remember there being a last time.” Tarq looks up at him confused.
“It was a long time ago, before Terry long. It doesn't matter though, they weren't worth your time.” Attarib says, she was leaning against her desk. “In the meantime you need to get ready. Know what's acceptable and unacceptable on your first outing with someone.”
“How will I know that?” Tarq questions, he didn't really know all the rules to dating.
“I'll help you.” Cetar offers.
“Me too.” Amatiel steps up.
“What the hell, I'll help you too Tarq. You're going to need it.” Gaviel also offers to help his brother.
“Me too!” Tariel jumps up excitedly. “I've spent some time in the Venus faction to develop an understanding of what's going on.”
“And you know how to talk to people and make friends better than any of us.” Gav muses.
“Aw thanks Gav.” Tariel smiles.
“Come on Tarq.” Cetar places a hand on his shoulder. “We'll show you the do’s and don'ts of outings with someone.”
“This should be interesting.” Matti comments, walking away with them.
“This is going to be so much fun.” Tariel claps her hands together.
“Try not to worry too much about it, everything will be fine.” Gaviel reassures.
“What exactly am I supposed to say?” Tarq questions.
“Anything but not anything you want, if that makes sense.” Tariel answers.
“Example, you can talk about what you do but there's no need to mention of a murder streak if you have one.” Matti supplies the answer.
“I don't, you all know that.”
“It's an example Tarq it's alright.” Gaviel pauses a moment to think. “You don't exactly have to but open up a little about yourself if he asks.”
“He already knows that I am an angel of fall.”
“That's a start.” Cetar does his best to sound encouraging.
“I guess.” Tarq shrugs. “I don't know if I can do this.”
“Getting cold feet is normal, you'll get passed it soon enough.” Gaviel reassures. “It happens don't worry about it.”
“Is it too late to back out?” Tarq asks.
“Yes, and not showing up without notifying ahead of time is rude.” Tariel scolds her older brother.
“Very well.” Tarq sighs.
“In order to get on his good side you should try to say something nice. Comment on how he looks or something like that.” Cetar does his best to give him advice.
“You have to tell us how it went when you get back.” Tariel smiles. “Don't leave anything out.”
“How long does it normally last?”
“An hour at most, sometimes two but it depends.” Amatiel shrugs. “Not much really happens on the first few dates. It's a getting to know you kind of thing.”
“We have to wrap this up soon guys.” Tariel says. “It's getting closer to seven.”
Tarquarn feels his heart start to beat just a little faster in his chest. “Is it really that close?”
“Looks like it.” Matti nods.
“You're going to do just fine brother, just take a deep breath.” Cetar places a hand on his shoulder.
“I can go with you to meet up with him Tarq.” Terry offers.
“I should be fine Tariel, thank you though.”
“Better get going.” Gav reminds him. “He isn't mortal so it won't take him long to get there.”
“Don't remind me.” Tarq sighs a little. “Wish me luck I guess.” He says before taking off, it wouldn't last too long right? God he hasn't had to do this before in so long, he as barely paying attention to what his brothers and sisters were saying to him. This was going to be an interesting night.
Does anyone know anything about an angel named amatiel? or maybe amariel? It's not me, I got the name and a flash of a bunch of plants/leaves. I think I worked close to them in some way. Any info would be great!
“Hey Tarq?” Gaviel waits for an answer from his brother, when one doesn’t come he tries again.
“Tarquarn.” He says a little more stern and with purpose of getting his attention.
“What Gav?” Tarq was pretty sure he was older than Gaviel, shouldn’t he be the stern one? No that wasn’t right, Gaviel was the oldest of the three of them, though he didn’t act like it half the time.
“Have you seen Amy recently? She’s supposed to be working or on guard duty, isn’t she?”
“She’s a grown woman Gaviel, she can handle herself. Unless she wants to play a game of chase.”
“You bet your feathery asses I do.” Comes their sister’s response over radio. “Come find me nerds.”
Gaviel and Tarquarn make eye contact with one another.
“Don’t.” Tarq warns, they’ve played this game before. “That’s exactly what she wants don’t you dare.”
Gaviel looks like he struggles for a moment before taking off to find their sister.
“Father dammit Gaviel.” Tarq mumbles before taking off after him. Hopefully they both went somewhere they’ve been before, at least that way they won’t have to search the entire globe for Amabiel. She was becoming predictable now, it shouldn’t be too hard.
Meanwhile, Nikolai and Adonis were out for a walk in Haven, talking between each other and pointing out landmarks as they went.
Amabiel was sprinting down the sidewalk when she was found by her brothers, laughing like a maniac as she did so.
“On your left! On your left!” She started calling as she got closer to the two of them.
The two incubi parted gracefully to let her past, giving her confused looks as she zoomed past.
Amy slows down just a little to take note of who she was running past before picking up the pace.
“Not that far!” Gaviel calls, letting them know he and Tarq weren’t that far behind. “Amy come back you have a job to do!”
“Kiss my ass Gav!” Amabiel calls back.
“Gaviel just let her be!” Tarq calls to his brother, still following after the two. He throws a quick wave and look of sorry to Nikolai and Adonis.
Adonis smiled back, winking as he passed them by.
Tarq noticed the wink and blushed a little hiding his face by turning back to see ahead of him.
Gaviel was almost within arm’s reach of grabbing his sister, that is until someone unexpected came from around the corner. The two of them letting out shouts of surprise as they ran into each other.
“Caleb?” Gaviel asks surprised. “What are you doing here? How did you get here?”
“Ow, nice to see you too love. One of your sisters, I thought we were supposed to get together. Was I wrong?”
“Oh shit.” Gaviel mumbles, helping his partner to his feet. “No, I spaced it I’m sorry. Are you alright Cal?”
“Hey are you guys okay?” Tarquarn catches up to them, Amy even stopped when she heard her brother shout.
“Everyone okay?” She asks as she comes around the corner again.
“Yeah I’m okay.” Caleb brushes off everyone’s concern.
Adonis and Niki followed behind, catching up to them quite quickly. “So, what are you guys doing in Haven?” Niki asked.
Gaviel points at Amy. “Amy decided to play chase.”
Amabiel grins proud of herself.
“You decided to fall for her game.” Tarquarn says annoyed at his brother.
“Interesting.” Adonis responds, looking over at Tarq and smiling again.
Tarq shuffles away slightly from Adonis, moving closer to his brother and sister.
“Honest to father I wasn’t expecting Cal to show up.” Amabiel defends herself.
“Is it okay if I steal Gav?” Cal asks, taking his hand.
“Yeah go for it.” Amy smiles.
“Sure thing.” Tarq couldn’t keep the smile off his face as he nods.
“Come on Gav, you promised me a date.” Caleb teases.
“Yes love.” Gaviel laughs a little.
“Okay bye Tarq.” Amy grins and takes off when Gaviel and Caleb leave.
“Amy.” Tarq sighs in defeat. “Guess I should go too.” He starts to leave himself.
“So soon?” Adonis looks disappointed. “I haven’t even learned your name yet.”
Tarquarn stops and turns to face him, a little confused as to why he’d want to know his name. “Tarquarn.”
“How lovely, I’m Adonis.”
Niki glanced over at the two, looking amused at Tarq’s obliviousness to Adonis’s flirting.
“Likewise I guess. Do you live in Haven?”
“No, I’m just visiting. And you?”
“Um, not really. Amabiel just decided she was going to run around town like a child. Again.”
Adonis chuckled quietly. “You sound like you have an interesting family.”
Tarq shrugs. “I guess? Amy is just weird.”
“Speak of the devil and she shall appear!” Amy throws her arms over his shoulders from behind him.
“Ah! Amy don’t do that.” He scolds his sister.
“You love me.”
“Unfortunately.” He murmurs.
“So, what are you two going on about? Are you making friends Tarquarn?”
“Um.” Is his only answer. “Amy maybe we should get going.”
“Why? You’re not working.”
“Fall angels don’t do well in the cold you know that.”
“Sorry my brother is so awkward.” Amabiel apologizes to Adonis for Tarq’s social awkwardness. “We’re working on his people skills.”
“Oh that’s quite alright, I’m used to shy people.” Adonis grinned.
“I’m not shy.” Tarq murmurs.
“Sure you’re not older brother.” Amabiel teases him. “Make some friends that aren’t me and the seasons you’ll be fine. Hell, you can make friends with Niki and um.” She stops to think for a minute. “Actually, I don’t think I’ve met you yet.”
“Adonis, my name is Adonis.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Amabiel but everyone calls me Amy. Make friends with Adonis.” She pats her brother on the shoulder. “You don’t have anything going on anyway.”
“Amy.” Tarq’s tone is a low warning for her to stop while she was ahead.
“Of course.” Amy answers for him. “The seasons take turns being in control of the weather in a sense, some of us do nothing for half the year. The falls just gave us control.” Amabiel grins, she liked talking about their job and what they did.
“Cool.”
“Very, but yes my brother is free tonight.”
“Excellent!” He turned to Tarq. “Would you like to join me for dinner?”
Niki smiled from the background, amused by his flirting.
“Uh, sure.” Tarq blushes a slight shade of red, quietly hoping they’d brush it off as the cold.
“See you here at seven?”
“Okay.”
“He’ll be there.” Amy reassures.
Adonis winked. “See you then.” He linked arms with Niki and continued on their way.
“Come on Tarq, we gotta teach you how to be social.” Amabiel grabs him by the arm and takes him back to heaven.
Amatiel- Amatiel is the ruling angel of summer. She tells the others where to go during the summer months. She work hard to get where she is and has no intentions of leaving it any time soon. She's not the oldest of the summer angels but she earned their respect and trust as she claimed her place as ruling angel of summer.
Gaviel- Gaviel is the oldest of the summer angels. Technically he could rule over the angels of summer but instead he chose to let his little Matti rule over them. She has more patience than he does when it comes to that sort of thing. He decided that he wouldn't mind taking orders from her and does his job happily.
Gargatel- Gargatel is not that much older than Amatiel and also could've ruled over his brother and sisters but also decided not to. He'd much rather be working among father's creations than sit around Heaven all day doing nothing.
Tariel- Tariel is the baby of the summer angels. She has more opportunities to go to earth than most. She likes to watch little kids run around and play in the nice summer weather that she, her brothers, and sister worked hard to make. There are rare moments when her emotions step out of line and mess the nice day up but she quickly reigns them in and gets them back under control. Father granted Tariel with the gift of foresight but only with small things Like say a certain Venus angel put hair dye in a shampoo bottle meant for someone else and she gently tells that person to not use that specific bathroom for a while.
Gaviel wasn’t exactly sure what a date was. His little sister Amatiel had been married to Brennen for a while, surely she knows what a date is. He hadn’t caught Amabiel or Tarquarn yet, but at this point he stopped caring and went upstairs. He knew they would come back when they felt like it besides, Amy still had a job to do until the spring angels took their turn.
Most of the angels of summer were hanging out and talking to each other. Tariel was speaking with Amatiel, possibly about what Amy and Tarq were up to. She had a big smile on her face as she spoke, clearly quite proud of herself with giving either cryptic or vague hints as to where their brother and sister could be. Tariel looked in his direction as he came walking up, she clearly wasn’t expecting to see him so soon for the look of surprise she threw his way.
“Gaviel.” She greeted her brother. “Have you found Amabiel and Tarquarn yet?”
“No.” He replied, mildly annoyed. “Your hints as to where they could have run off to weren’t very helpful. So I stopped looking.”
“Amy’s going to be so sad that you gave up on her game.”
“Oh well.” Gav shrugs. “Amatiel may I speak with you in private?”
Amatiel looked confused when he asked this but agreed to it nonetheless. “Of course Gaviel, what is it?”
Gaviel leads his sister away from the others so they can talk in private. “Amatiel, what is a date?”
Matti stares for a moment, processing what her brother just asked her. “That depends on which definition of that word you are looking for brother. To which are you referring to?”
“The one where people say it’s a date if you agree to meet up with them later.”
“Oh, well that’s basically what it is, when people make plans to see each other later. Whether it is romantic or not depends on how it was said.”
“Has Brennen ever said it to you before?”
“Yes but I always knew what he meant, has someone said it to you? Someone from the nest?”
“Yes but it wasn’t anyone from the nest.”
“Oh.” At this Amatiel was taken slightly aback. “Then who was it?”
“Someone I may or may not have just met while looking for Amabiel and Tarquarn.”
“A random stranger said that to you? How exactly did that happen?”
Gaviel sighs a little as his cheeks flush pink. “It happened when I was chasing down Amy and Tarq.” He begins, recounting everything that happened leading up to him meeting caleb and hearing the phrase it’s a date.
“Oh.” Amatiel is still in surprise, she had no idea her brother had considered having a partner. It would appear there was a bit of truth in Amy’s words when the angel of winter was teasing him.
“But now that I know what he was talking about I don’t know if I should go. There’s father’s rules of not getting involved with humans like that but it appears everybody disregards that rule. You married Brennen for instance, father knows how many of our brothers and sisters have gotten involved with his creations.”
“Well, you shouldn’t stand the nice man up. He sounds like he might be interested. You should at least give him a chance and then decide if you want to consider seeing him. That’s how I was told about what I should do with Brennen, until the Venus angels stepped in.” She mutters the last part under her breath.
“What was that last part?” Gaviel asked, slightly concerned that Matti was keeping things from him.
“Oh nothing.” She waves him off. “Just give this man a chance, I’m sure it’ll be worth it in the end.”
“Thanks Matti.” Gaviel smiles at her. “You know, for someone who’s normally a big rule follower you give some pretty good advice, for my little sister too.”
Matti smiles a little and rolls her eyes. “You’re welcome, now go get ready for your date later.”
Atheliel:
Grace of God, Excellence of God;
Charge of Gabriel, protégé of Amatiel, flame of Adnarel.
An Angel of Spring, Forgiveness, and Healing.
Very dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, faint freckles, and light skin with delicate gold markings.
I had two wings; they were brown and cream and looked like that of a hawk or osprey.
My personal Tumblr is @atheliel
Red, that was all Amatiel saw when Rahmiel brought Hayyel back to Heaven and learned that her little sister’s wings were almost taken. She wanted to hunt the demon down that did it. Rahmiel, Theliel, Hayyel, and the new baby were her cubs, they were in her care and she considered them hers, if anyone had threatened to take or hurt her cubs she would defend them. She couldn’t go out and hunt the bastard down that hurt her little sister however, her brothers would be busy once more so she decided to take care of Hayyel instead. Once angel hunting was outlawed then she’d hunt down the demon that hurt her.
“Ow! Matti!” Hayyel’s protests snapped her out of her thoughts. “Let go, that hurt!”
“Maybe if you stopped moving it wouldn’t hurt.” Amatiel said back. “And it’s Amatiel.”
Hayyel growled. “Fine, Amatiel.” Her tone dripping with sarcasm. “What are you even trying to accomplish? All you’re doing is hurting me even more than I already am.” She was still holding her side, Rahm’s rushed healing still not enough to completely heal the bleeding wound.
“I’m trying to help you. Your medic brother’s work is a bit sloppy but I’m sure there’s reason for that.”
“Well, he was kind of in a rush and I guess you’d call it murder mo- OW!” Hayyel yelped as her sister slowly unwrapped her injured wing. “Why are you moving it?!”
“Because I’m going to finish what our brother started.”
“Please do, but gently. You’re failing at the gently part at the moment.” She sighed.
“I’m sorry little one.” Matti apologizes. “I didn’t mean to hurt you further.”
“It’s okay.” Hayyel pulls her hands away from her side, grimacing when she saw almost her entire hand covered in red. “This one really hurts though.” She took a deep breath. “I keep feeling weaker every minute. What could do that?”
“Our blade for starters.” Amatiel says, moving to heal her wound. “Perhaps a blade blessed by a priest or servant of Heaven. Or you are not yet strong enough to hold out on such wounds and are still learning despite your age.” She holds her hand above Hayyel’s wound, healing it further than Rahm was able to.
Hayyel winced as the wound slowly closed, relaxing a touch once it was all healed. “That feels a lot better.” She sighed.
“I thought it would, let’s focus on the wing now yeah?”
Hayyel made a face. “I guess, as long as you’re careful. I don’t remember much, but I’m pretty sure he hit bone.”
“I’ll be careful, you forget how powerful we are when it comes to this sort of thing.”
“It still hurts.”
“I know little cub, it’ll be alright.” Amatiel goes back to work on her sister’s wing.
Hayyel whimpered at the slightest touch, biting her lip to try and keep the pain at bay.
“I know little one it’ll be okay.” Amatiel assured her sister as she tried to heal her wing as quickly as possible.
“Why does it have to hurt so much? Why do they even want our wings in the first place?” Hayyel said quietly, trying to distract herself from the burning pain that was coursing throughout her back.
“For fun, status, intimidation, for respect among those of Hell.” Amatiel bites down on her anger. “I’m sorry this happened to you my little cub, none of our brothers or sisters deserve this.”
“It’s okay Matti, it’s not your fault.” Hayyel said gently, her fist balled up tight. “You couldn’t have known this would happen.”
“Amatiel.” She gently corrects. “You are still my cub and I still care for you. I will find who did this and give them what they deserve.”
Hayyel sighed. “You do know I don’t call you Matti to upset you. To me, it’s more of a term of endearment. Amatiel sounds too harsh and distant sometimes. Like I don’t even know you. And I don’t suggest going after him, I don’t want you getting hurt over pointless revenge.”
“I much prefer the name I was given rather than the nickname your brothers seem so determined to call me. And it’s not revenge, I’m simply getting rid of one more demon the world can live without.”
“But I don’t want you to get hurt I-” Hayyel stopped, not sure she wanted to say the next part. “I care about you too much. I’m okay now, that’s all that matters.”
“Don’t try to lie Hayyel you are not okay I’ve not finished yet. I am pleased to hear that you care about me though.” She smiles a little.
Hayyel smirked. “I’m not dying anymore, that’s enough for me.”
“Mm so you say, you acted as if my heart were made of stone when you were a fledgling.”
“You have to admit, you were and kind of still are, a little cold sometimes.” Hayyel pointed out.
“I am not, if I were then I wouldn’t be finishing Rahmiel’s work now would I? I also wouldn’t have agreed to look after your trouble making brothers when Lucifer and Gabriel left.”
“They’re your brothers too, and I distinctly remember you saying that they were dropped in your care and you had no say about it.” Hayyel chuckled.
“Mm but I had all the paperwork done saying they were mine. It was Hamon I willingly agreed to look after until he was three.”
“I guess so.” Hayyel turned her head to try and see how it was progressing. “How’s it looking back there?”
“Getting better, I’m almost finished.”
Hayyel nodded. “I can tell, it feels better already. Not so much burning pain then just mildly stinging.”
“That’ll go away soon.” Amatiel assured her.
“I know, I’m just tired is all. It’s been a long couple of days.”
“I’m sure it has been. I’m just about done, you’ll be able to rest soon.”
Hayyel nodded. “I’ll take a nap then I’ll get back to work.” She said matter of factly.
Amatiel smiles. “Maybe you can get your brother Theliel to join you. He does quite like to take naps as often as he can.”
“Yeah, maybe. But I really do need to get back to work as soon as possible.”
“Calm down little one, the last of the damage is fixed now.”
Hayyel smiled. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.” Amatiel smiles back at her.
Hayyel yawned, leaning over where she sat. “I’m just gonna nap right here.”
