We met through friends at the end of last year. We liked each other well enough but had never really talked.
She accidentally butt-dialed me three times one morning at 5am. I was awake, getting ready for a horse show; she was up, getting ready for a shoot. After that, we chatted a little bit, and she seemed like a seriously cool person, someone I would really like to be friends with.
At a friend’s birthday evening, we joked around together, put fake tattoos on each other and confessed our undying love for one another (entirely jokingly, of course).
Then we started chatting more, talking about silly things and future plans. The next time I saw her, we stayed out after everyone else had gone home and I launched myself at her face when she stopped her car to drop me at home.
The next morning, I apologised profusely, admitting that I didn't entirely regret it and she copied me, word-for-word. Our chatting continued.
After a few more days, I suggested we see a movie. We played in the kiddy arcades and saw some God-awful movie. We spent three hours after that, lying down on a grassy patch along a canal outside (but actually inside) the mall, talking, and ended up getting locked outside (inside), and had to sneak in through a service entrance.
Nearly a week passed after that, because I had a final exam to study for, and she had film shoots to plan and complete. We met up for drinks the night my exam ended and with about 6 hours sleep over three days between the pair of us, it was pretty entertaining.
The next day, we watched another God-awful movie at her house, but found other ways to entertain ourselves, despite her parents being asleep right next door.
We spent 7 hours walking around the Waterfront, hand-in-hand (which blew our little secret with our lesbian group - someone saw us and reported back to everyone), baby-watching, penguin-teasing, turtle-admiring, cave-exploring, and making straight people uncomfortable.
We were the talk of the group of lesbians who sat near us at the wine farm and we patented the word “amazeboobs” instead of “amazeballs”.
Her hair is caramel-brown, thin but thick (despite half of it being shaved) and gets tangled so damn easily. Her eyes are green and brown but sometimes show a tinge of blue when the sun shines in them the right way, and they sparkle naughtily whenever she tells a joke. Her lips are upside down but right way up. Her nostrils are uneven and crinkle up in the most fantastic way when she laughs. When she finds something funny, her whole face changes, and becomes naughty and mischievous. Her face changes again when she talks about her passions and it is absolutely mesmerising - you can tell that she is wholly in love with what she does. Results from our arm-wresting competitions show that her left arm is weaker than mine, but her right arm is 10x stronger. She can sing amazingly (but so far refuses to do so in front of me - I heard her at a someone’s house earlier in the year) and can play guitar. She calls her camera her baby and treats it as such. My dogs like her, and so does my horse, and my nephew asked her her surname, which is pretty cute.
This girl is absolutely amazing and somehow, idiotically, agreed to be my girlfriend.
