-reads your post about Will's hatred of pirates- My Salazar muse, immediately: "¿Lo ves? Él sabe. This one is acceptable. The piratas are a plague." 😂 On a more serious note, this headcanon is marvelous, and it really does make so much sense! I had never really put much thought into that particular line, but this is brilliant. You really do understand the character so well, and I love how much thought you put into him, as well as how much you've expanded and elaborated with your headcanons. 👏👏👏
The things I would do to throw Will and Salazar together — Will was a few twists of fate away from becoming so like him, I stand by this.
Thank you so much!! 🥹🥹 I am truly thrilled beyond words that you're willing to read through my rambling, let alone that you enjoy it! Will being one of the biggest characters from one of the most iconic pirate franchises yet never really coming to like pirates is so fascinating to me.
Also please let me take this moment to say how much I've been loving your posts about Barbossa! I honestly have found myself going back and re-reading your recent posts because I've enjoyed them so much. He was always one of the more interesting characters imo, and seeing you really dig into what makes him tick and into his background is so incredibly satisfying. It is taking a good thing and making it great.

The girl looks as out of place as she feels, uncomfortably tense as she tries to maintain at least some semblance of personal space - though it was difficult to achieve with the multitude of strange, scary men she had found herself trapped in the presence of.
Her very first foray outside of her tower, and this was how it had ended up? What happened to taking her to see the floating lights? How could Jack have just left her on her own like this? Maybe Mother was right...
❝ Um... H-He's—coming back, right...? ❞
"I believe ye promised me that ye'd lay low, Missy."
︵‿۶ৎ 𝓐‿ "come, barbossa, don't you start too." this time his concern is valid, though, given that ariel had nearly been caught by another set of pirates who wanted her tear yet again, before @ambitiondamned came and rescued her. she thought she'd done a good job pretending to be human ... but seems she was wrong. looking down at her feet, her toes curl with a heavy sigh and frown. "but thanks for saving me. i appreciate it." she looks up to meet his gaze with the vague hint of a smile, before she's bouncing off to the ship outside.
( cotbp // accepting ) BARBOSSA [ @ambitiondamned ] WROTE: ❝We're all men of our word, really.❞
IF IT HAD BEEN POSSIBLE to truly glare daggers, Barbossa would've been gutted like a wild boar and hung over the fire. The more practical members of the crew had prevented Will from attempting it. Above all, it had been Dalma who'd stayed his hand with no more than a pointed reminder there were greater evils in the world than pirates. There’d been a look in her eye promising to prove it if he harbored any doubts. He did not.
They’d agreed to get some rest, that they would discuss their next steps in the morning, but Will felt if he fell asleep around Barbossa, he would never wake again — nor might Elizabeth. While the others rested, he paced like a watch-dog, committing to memory every uneven board that would put off his footing in a fight. Neither the balmy night air nor the exhaustion beaten into his bones could over-shout his own mind howling at him to stay alert. A howl that grew louder as he stared down this dead man and remembered the exact value of his word.
❝And, all worth only that much, Barbossa.❞ If he could have lit the name on fire as he threw it at him, he would have. ❝What exactly is your word this time? I should think a man who’s cheated death wouldn’t be eager to give it a second chance at claiming him.❞

“Where’s the good doctor?” Patrick tries not to sound panicked as unseen eyes flicker, giving him a glimpse of the brightest stars he’s ever seen, of the ocean floor, of an island he’s convinced must be a hundred miles away. He’s not been able to locate Dr. Kelson through these distractions, and the Captain can’t know the truth. “I’m a might feverish.”
Even to the wraith himself, it sounds unconvincing. He can only hope Barbossa takes it to be an understatement. Patrick’s got a little experience treating patients himself, and people say healers never do want to admit to any serious illness.
@ambitiondamned said to victoria : ❛ i need to know that ye understand the situation. ❜
she likes to think that she understands. likes to believe that the secrets of the world have all bared themselves before her like flowers blooming underneath the gaze of the sun. victoria knows all the things she does for certain, and will simply guess all things else, for there is little difference between certainty and a well-educated guess to someone who chases fairies and dragons in the clouds in the sky.
❝ naturally, i do. ❞ is often taken for a fool ⎯⎯⎯ a ship and the vast open sea do not offer a reprieve from this fate. ❝ this is a ship, yes ? that means we are sailing, and you must know that my brother told me plenty about seafaring. so i understand the matter perfectly. ❞
