Truthfully, the knowledge that the universe was much wider than she had initially thought brought little comfort to Morren. After all, somewhere out in those countless stars were the monsters who had taken her from the only life she had ever known, her one true friend, and placed a parasite in her brain that would inevitably corrupt her.
She had never felt so small, so utterly helpless, since she was a child. She hated it.
But Gale seemed so earnest, so full of wonder, that perhaps she could for a moment be swept along. She reached out a hand to run her fingers along the strange device he had been using. It had been explained to her that it made things that were small or far away much larger so they could be seen better. It was strange but what about the last few days hadn't been strange? Strange was the new norm.
"This is the furthest from my home I've ever been." Morren admitted softly "I hadn't realised the world was so much larger than I ever imagined."
