— ◇◆ They always say that one moment could change your life forever. One moment, one second even, could change everything from that point forward. For Gou Matsuoka -- that moment was now.
The redhead was sitting at the edge of the bathtub, home alone as her mom was at work. It was a sunny Wednesday afternoon, the girl home at home. Usually she'd be at school but that wasn't the case today. Today, the seventeen year old girl was witnessing something she didn't think she would until after she was married, maybe even a bit before.
Two thin pink lines on a test she bought from the drugstore. Two lines that indicated that yes, one was pregnant.
She blinked, trying to will the image from her mind. Maybe she was seeing things and there was only one line, she was imagining it. But no matter how much she rubbed her eyes, blinked, and shook the test in her shaking fingers, the result didn't waver.
It stayed the same -- the image etching into her. She wanted to badly for it to change, but it wouldn't. This was something that couldn't be changed no matter how much she wished for it.
Covering her mouth with a shaking palm, a strangled cry escaped her lips, the test dropping to the floor with a soft clatter. Tears pooled in her eyes as she closed her eyes. No no, this couldn't be happening. That night was a mistake... one that she'd been trying to forget so very desperately.
But it seems that it was impossible now.
She slid off the side of the tub and collapsed onto the ground with a thud. Her cry echoed around the small bathroom as tears streamed down Gou's face. She could feel her world shattering around her -- like her life was a mirror that had just been struck by a hammer.
She wept, unable to hold it in. She was hurting and unable to comprehend what her reality had drastically morphed into. Maybe she deserved this? Had it been her fault? Had that night been her fault?
It hurt, and she couldn't stop the tears.
