Day 13 - Ancient Times
Taking her tentative steps through the centuries, Aurelle took in the crumbled architecture around her and the massive roots that had worked so diligently to bury it all. To bury the legacy of this ancient city and the harm it had wrought.
Amdapor. Where White Magic had first been shaped and then wielded for untold ruin. A magic that the Elementals now stewarded careful use of, that the world might never again face calamity from its mismanagement. Its current living wielders could be counted on her fingers. And only one of that number was not Padjal.
Only her.
All that now remained of this civilisation that had shone too brightly and too fierce.

orb ponderings and other fatherless activities in Amdapor Keep
Dauntless shook his head, displacing rain briefly. It continued to pour. Distant lightning strikes lit up the forest around him before throwing it all back into dark. The chocobo shifted where he stood, rutting another deep gash into the earth. It had been a day and nearly a night since Lyrin’a had entered the ruins that made his feathers crawl. A day and nearly a night of standing and waiting, peering out into the woods and up at the towering stones, of hissing and posturing at any crack of brush or snapping of twig. He wasn’t afraid, of course. But he’d been tasked to wait and anything attempting to move him would find great resistance. He’d lost the miqo’te once he wasn’t about to do it again. The great bird shifted again, then began to move closer to the ruins. Perhaps he should go after him.. He should never have let him go alone to begin with. No more had both feet found stone beneath them than the warbird gave a rattling call and rushed forward. Lyrin’a stumbled through the massive doors of the keep, one hand gesturing even as he turned away. He did lose his footing then and rolled down the stone steps. The doors swung slowly closed behind him, settling with the sealing sound of magic. The Keeper rolled to his back at the sound of Dauntless’s call, peering up at the dark sky and the rain that pelted him.
When Dauntless reached him, he craned his neck down, nosing over the Keeper’s form. He smelled blood but not enough to kill him. An anxious noise left him and he brought his massive body down, down, until he was as flat as he could manage, neck snaked back to nudge the catte astride. They needed to away, as quickly as they could. Something felt amiss even if he couldn’t place the reason. Lyrin’a grasped at reins weakly, a crack of thunder jolting him when it seemed his hold might loosen. It took several pained gasps before he’d dragged himself into the saddle, even low was it was. In the end he was laying more than sitting, fingers curled into the feathers at Dauntless’s neck, reins loose and dangling. The bird was gentle when he rose, and gingerly tested his rider’s seat before moving. Not a quick gallop home then, or he’d be picking him up again and again. Still, home was home however slow it took. Dark eyes peered around them before stooping to pick up Lyrin’a’s staff in his beak. For favors nothing would get in their way.
