did anyone else just like not know that is was possible to get a D as a letter grade until like pretty late late in their education?? I didn’t know till the end of college because all the schools I went to beforehand simply went from a C- to an F and I just assumed that was the norm that anything below a 70 was failing.
i love being told that, even though i have mostly a’s in all of my classes, my self worth is still at an all time low because of my math grade:)) i fucking hate the american grading system
The American grading system is bullshit
Seriously, what is the American grading system? 66% correct is an F. What even? And you call us stupid...
What the fuck is wrong with the school grading system
Why does it take a 60 test grade to drop your grade from an 80 to a 60 but takes 20 90+ test grades to get it up to a 75???? What the fuck??????
You said a 2.8 is like an 83 but how is that possible? Are GPAs calculated differently? Like isn't it 2.8/4 or not I'm not american so I don't know
I know it’s confusing because a 2.8 sounds like it’s so much lower than a 4.0
This is the standard for most American Universities/Colleges:
A 4.0 is an “A” (100%)
3.0 is a “B” (85%)
A 2.0 is a “C” (75%)
A 1.0 is a “D” (65%)
A .4 or lower is failing.
You can use this conversion chart from the Princeton Review for future reference.
Here’s a really great (and more detailed) Explanation of Grades/GPA Calculation form Boston University.
I have a C in Sign Language
Because I got a 4/7 on a quiz. I’ve gotten a 100% on the three other assignments but I still have a C. I fucking hate the American grading system.
