Back with part II of 'the way of a portrait' 😁 Trying to shade the forehead with a 2H and 6H pen. Finished? Alright, then let's start drawing the hair. First at all, she's got a blonde hair. That's the most difficult hair I guess. So I start drawing the dark areas with a 3B and the really dark areas with a medium charcoal pen. Now, I take the 2H again and start drawing the single hairs step by step. Make sure to draw the hairs in the same direction, in which the streaks fall. Hey guys! I'm back with a new project! So, here's to you 'the way of a portrait'. I gonna show you how I am doing a photorealism drawing, in different steps. You guys probably recognized her. It's Samantha Smith, mostly known as Mary Winchester in the American TV series 'Supernatural'.😁😎 After drawing the outlines and proportions with a HB pen (image 1) I start shading with a 2B (sometimes also 2H and 6H. It depends on the contrast of the original image) That's the part I spend most of my time with. At first, only the eyes and parts of the nose. (Image 2). I repeat this part till I am satisfied with the result. Now it's time for drawing the lips. It's quite difficult to draw lips with much of details. I mostly use a construction pencil and -for more contrast- a 3B pen. (Image 3) Even though I'm not 100% satisfied, I start shading the cheek. (Image 4) Eyes, lips and nose as well, are going to revised at the end of every portrait, so it doesn't matter if they are not 100% perfect.
