American Dream Bandai Namco Store Features Tama Search Special Characters!

The moment that many have been waiting for is finally here! The Bandai Namco Store in the American Dream Mall now has the Tama Search feature with special characters! This was just recently launched the last week of January, 2025 and aligns with the Bandai Namco Cross stores throughout Japan. You’ll see a Tama Search sign in the store by the register and test drive section.

Be sure to launch the Tama Search feature on your Tamagotchi Uni to visit the special character! The characters will change as Bandai announces new ones, but right now the special character is Manekineko Mimitchi in celebration of the release of the Tamagotchi Original Japan Edition Part 1!

Bandai Namco US Hosting American Dream Spring Celebration Fan Event

Get ready for some spring fun, Bandai Namco US is hosting a Tamagotchi spring celebration event that will kickoff the spring season! What better way to kick it off than enjoying Tamagotchi in the Bandai Namco store located at the American Dream Mall?

From Saturday, March 29th, 2025 through Sunday, March 30th, 2025 from 12:00PM - 5:00PM you can expect an interactive, hands-on adventure including a Tamagotchi scavenger hunt though the mall, a portrait studio featuring Mametchi, Tamagotchi-themed face painting, temporary tattoos, and nail art! There will also be cotton candy featuring your favorite characters and more! OMG THIS SOUNDS LIKE A BLAST!

American Dream Bandai Namco Store Updates Tamagotchi Wall Graphics

A wall that was once empty with just white paint has now been decorated with some beautiful Tamagotchi graphics. How awesome is that? Sarah (thtquirkygirl), best known as the founder of the New York City Tamagotchi club was recently visiting the store and noticed the new Tamagotchi graphic right on the wall! 

The new wall graphic indicates that this store features a Tamagotchi Shop! Showcased are Tamagotchi original characters from gen 1, gen 2, and the newly released gen 3 along with a Tamagotchi Original in Pretty Party shell. How adorable? It’s just in time for the upcoming Spring Celebration Fan Event!

Inside the American Dream Mall Tamagotchi Spring Celebration Event

Spring is here, and to celebrate Bandai Namco US hosted a Tamagotchi Spring Celebration event at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This mall is also where their very first Bandai Namco Store is located.

We were in attendance and we really enjoyed our time at this event! Both Bandai Namco US and Beacon Media Group did an awesome job at making everyone feel welcomed! Hosted in both the B and C courts of the enormous mall, there was plenty of room for all Tamagotchi fans.

In the B court Bandai Namco US had a Tamagotchi shop setup where you could buy various Tamagotchi devices and merchandise, and we saw lots of sold out signs! It seemed like almost everyone was buying the plushies and devices. Oh, did we mention that the Tamagotchi Uni was sold at a special price of just $40.00, thats’s an awesome deal!

After shopping til you drop at the shop, you can head over to the center of the B court where you would get three services. First was face painting, get some cute Tamagotchi decals on your face! Second was temporary tattoos, which were adorable spring themed Tamagotchi characters that you could rock. Third, and last was the nail art! You could not only get all of your nails painted, but Tamagotchi decals on them too, it was super adorable.

Before walking over to the C court, which is where you will find American Dream’s Secret Garden decorated for the event, you’ll get to the start of the egg hunt! This was one of our favorite activities. Simply grab a egg hunt card from the start, and follow the map to stores that have an egg hunt sign by their entrance.

Each store will give you an exclusive Tamagotchi spring celebration sticker for your card! Characters included Marutchi, Mametchi, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi, and Mimitchi! After you get all your stickers, head back to the start to get your exclusive Tamagotchi Spring Celebration trading card!

Next up, head to the American Dream Secret Garden at court C where you will see Tamagotchi characters throughout the garden, and even in the foundation! There’s a photo booth where Mametchi spent some time posing with fans, and everyone’s favorite, the cotton candy booth! Fans were able to wait in line to get their hands on a Mametchi shaped cotton candy on a stick! It was supposed to be Mametchi’s full body, but the line and wait likely was the reason for them switching over to just Mametchi’s face.

We do want to call out that this event was very busy, the turnout definitely exceeded our expectations. The Tamagotchi shop always had a line, merchandise was selling out, several booths had at least 1-2 hour waits. This is all good news for the Tamagotchi brand! There was so much excitement in the air about the upcoming Tamagotchi Plaza game for Nintendo Switch!
