I'm stoked about feeling like I finally got my luggage system where I want it after the last couple runs to Montana and back.

I feel like after I added the Wolfman Luggage Overland Duffel, everything has settled where they need to go. It carries my laptop comfortably and also doubles as my backpack when I get to where I'm going. With extra D Rings so I can strap my tripod to it, and my extra gas. Winning.

It was really amazing to get to share the last day of the Pilgrimage with my Father, it made me wish I could have done more of the trip with him. It was crazy surreal to come to the end of the trip, I spent another week or so in Montana to get set up for Rocky Mountain Roll, and I got a shiny new bike!

If there was any doubt about how much I love Lazarus, I believe going through the carbs three times in one day is evidence. That's love right there.

Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area has all kinds of hidden treasures to explore, including the Caroline Lockhart Ranch (who is my new hero, and she should be yours too.)

Finally back on the road. In which Amanda is rescued by not one but two people, and becomes the rock whisperer.

If you couldn't tell, I'm not a happy camper when I'm cold and wet. Probably another good reason I did this trip solo, I'm not sure anyone else would have been able to deal with my travel depression. 

When you're travelling alone on a bike with a limited budget, simple things like being warm can make the difference between happiness and the deep pit. Stuff we take for granted in our normal lives like being able to take wet things off and dry them. Which I guess would have been less of a problem if I had decided to do half the distance and used the extra money to stay in hotels. I don't regret my decision to camp for the majority of my trip. What I regret was not taking gear that would have kept me warmer. Like a 0* Sleeping Bag, or more fleece base layers. Waterproofs! I can not emphasis waterproof gear enough. My life could have been so much nicer if I had had the goretex boots I have now, and actual goretex gloves. Gear is everything. In the wise words of Chris Hunt, "It's the gear that keeps you happy and without it you'll fail."
