The large saber-toothed cat Amphimachairodus giganteus stalks prey in coastal thickets near a body of water in the late Miocene of Eurasia. Крупная саблезубая кошка амфимахайрод гигантский (Amphimachairodus giganteus) подкрадывается к добыче в прибрежных зарослях возле водоёма в позднем миоцене Евразии.

Taowu

Taowu – рід шаблезубих (Machairodontinae) кішок з раннього плейстоцену Китаю. Названий на честь міфічної істоти, яка була схожа на тигра, але з великими бивнями, Taowu був одним із карликових махайродових, розміром з великого леопарда чи маленького ягуара. Він був тісно пов’язаний з Amphimachairodus, але вважається більш похідним. Типовий вид – Taowu liui.
