My art journey has come such a long way and I am genuinely proud of my strides. Doing art makes me so happy and I’m so glad it’s something I’ll always have for myself. Even though I don’t get chances to gush online a lot about my interests, mostly people close to me exclusively get to see how insane I am about my interests lol, but Homestuck has gotten me through countless tough times and it’s a special interest that makes me beyond overjoyed and I could probably yap HOURS about it. I still can’t believe I’ve been a fan since I was so little…time flies. 🫶✨🏠

I think a lot about how to dress my Amporas.

Typically, they all get decked out with rings. Varies a bit by character and universe but here are a few I’ve collected.

They almost always have simpler ones too, lots of plain bands and chevrons of course, but wanted to focus on statement pieces.

If this sort of thing is at all interesting to anyone other than me, I could do a number of fashion/moodboard posts for the fish (and other characters too! I keep collecting Porrim and Aranea fits even though I have yet to write either of them…)

thank you so much for liking my art <33333 and oh boy WOULD I?? :,) Okay so! To answer that, I’ll have to start from ancestors and also touch upon my own story and interpretation of the Amporas! (So keep in mind those are headcanons and my interpretations of the fish, which aren’t necessarily completely accurate or how the original creator of the Amporas intended to depict them!)

Ancestors drew me in first, because we don't know much about them and honestly there is so much potential to play with. Not a lot of people in the fandom are into ancestors, and that small fraction that is usually focused on the Signless' story (and that's really cool!), but I haven't seen much on Dualscar and felt drawn in to work on him and fill the narrative. One day I was just thinking how it would be really silly if the classist fish man fell hard for something he said he couldn't stand. I started thinking about it a bit more, and thus my silly Ds story started developing, which I'm currently writing (Tide's Folly).

The motivator in the story will make him revalue everything he had believed in, and challenge his fragile identity built around the sense of worth from his role in the hierarchy. The hemospectrum, although benefiting the highbloods, also puts strict rules on them, thus not leaving much breathing room for them to develop how they would like. He resents the system as much as he needs it to feel worthy, but he will not admit that resentment to himself or to others. I want to challenge his persona to see in which way he could develop, and have fun with it a bit. (+ i needed a creative outlet :,) ). Additionally, I'm curious about what actually happened after Signless' execution and before the Summoner. There is a big plot hole in the story that nobody touches upon, and that drew me in and it just.. kinda?? started?? rolling???? Mostly what I like about Dualscar is pretty OOC I think, although considering Cronus and Eridan’s personalities, the patterns of behavior that can be noticed in both of them, and how genetics work, we can pretty much conclude what kind of a person Dualscar could have been. Also, keeping in mind that he is a fully fledged adult, who could be worse than them emotionally, or maybe better, who knows! Generally for the Amporas, I really like that they’re comically awful. They’re emotionally volatile, narcissistic, self-absorbed and so on.

And while it can seem kind of weird to like an evil aligned characters, I LIKE them because they' re awful. You don’t see actual evil aligned characters that much in the media that aren’t like, misunderstood good guys, or doing something for the "greater good". They're just awful and I love them for it. And while a lot of people (including myself) like to head canon issues that cause Amporas to act that way, as I said, I really like evil characters that are not misunderstood, not actually good beneath it all, and don’t have something that will magically redeem them. Instead, if they want to change, they need one hell of a motivator, and a long painful road ahead c: Idk man, there is just something delicious about evil aligned characters that get my gears going.
