Gepards actually pretty shy about it so when you praise him he goes all red and splutters about some “bare minimum” and “good habits”

He loves it when you praise him though so dont stop

Aventurine:

he gives off malewife energy but erm… he can’t really do the “traditional wife” part

Growing up he was sold and wasn’t taken care of properly, much less learned how to do stuff like clean the freaking bathroom so unfortunately you’re probably gonna have to do a bunch of heavy lifting

He’s still gonna try his best though

By try his best I mean buy his best

Literally buys you cleaning services because he wants to spend time with his gem so why would he let you slave away at the floors when a machine could do the same thing?

“But my gem! This one works at double the speed!☹️”

It didn’t work at double the speed and it left soap all over the floor so you had to have a mopping date with aventurine

Didn’t stop you from having fun together when you guys started mop wars and see who could clean the most area in a minute

You guys tied but he swears he’ll beat you next time (sure he will)

🦇You and your f/o are watching a horror movie which they play off as not scary but when they go to sleep, they hold on closer to you for comfort💕 🦇Your f/o spams with you silly images of flowers and cats and when you ask them why, they say because it reminds them of you and how much they love you!! 🦇F/o has a hobby of scrap booking but has decided to start a new scrap book featuring all the things they love so each time you guys go out, they take a quick polaroid photo and adds it to their book. At the end of the year, they give you the scrap book as a gift and gives you a big forehead kiss!!!

🦇Your f/o loves you so much so when they come in from work, they immediately go to find you and covers your whole face with kisses!!!

🦇Your f/o does not like sleeping in the dark so you buy them a super cool lava lamp and it makes them so happy to watch before dozing off to sleep. They eventually start collecting lava lamps and shares them with you!!

🦇F/o loves to feel your touch or just you in general to remind them that they aren't just dreaming and truly does have you!! They'll brush your hair, hold your hand, give you kisses, long hugs, and your makeup if you let them💕💕💕

🦇F/o loves holding your hand, especially in public and is not afraid to show the world who makes them feel so joyous and loved!! They sometimes hug you and spin you around in circles in public as well because what the hell, they love you and love seeing the spark in your eyes each time they do it :3

If you don’t understand a term or what it means - don’t use it, if there’s an english widely used equivalent of the term that’s existed for longer and all sources show it means what you think it means ; use it instead.

I don’t mean to get into too much of the yume versus selfship discourse but imo I have just. never seen any Japanese person directly say anything about it or use it.

I feel like the answer should be kind of obvious considering the fact ‘yumeship’ is already using english and isn’t a fully Japanese term. I’ve also heard it was formed by English speaking audiences as well. As least terms like oshikatsu and gyaru are in full Japanese - thus there are a large number of Japanese people informing non Japanese people about what it is and blablabla. It made me realise maybe I shouldn’t be using the term.

Just use the term selfship, easily avoid being unintentionally orientalist, its the fully English term which fits its mostly English speaking audience. They’re used to mean fundamentally the same thing, they’re used interchangably and as synonyms. One isn’t more serious than the other. Majority of us don’t exactly even know the whole thing behind yumejoshi/danshi culture. If there’s anyone who’d like to add a first person perspective I will edit this post to add a link to your post - or add the info.
