Can you even believe it’s June? I can’t! Where has the time gone? I will say that I’m probably wishing away the days for the return of The Walking Dead and Richonne but you and I don’t have to wish for another amazing Richonne writer interview! It was such a pleasure to interview @amrcncpprhd1! Learn more about her favorite part of the writing process, how often she writes and her surprise treat when asked apples or mints?

Richonnefics (RF): Hi amrcncpprhd1! Thank you so very much for allowing us the pleasure of getting to know you as a Richonne fanfiction writer.  What inspires you to write?

amrcncpprhd1 (AMR): I’ve always enjoyed writing and trying to come up with interesting stories. I like using words to paint a picture or to encourage a thought. I was inspired to write Richonne fanfiction because of Rick and Michonne and because of the awesome fanfiction that I read after I started shipping the two.

RF: Rick and Michonne are definitely encouraging muses.  I don’t know how anyone CAN’T ship them.  Do you write in silence or do you need music to focus?

AMR: Great question. It really depends to be honest. Mostly I like writing in silence especially if I’m really in the zone. Sometimes I do need a mood motivator so music does help during those times.

RF: What is your least favorite part of the writing process? 

AMR: Ugh. I always struggle with endings. I have no idea why but they are my Achilles heel. I have no problem with the entrance of a story or fic. I have no problems coming up with plots and pivotal moments for the bulk of the story. But finding a way to end it with the same amount of appeal is something I’m still trying to work out.

RF: What is your favorite part of the writing process?

AMR: I love it all. The opening, the dialogue, the twists, the edits, and knowing it’s complete are all very satisfying to me. I do enjoy pushing the envelope with sex, violence, or things that may be considered disturbing.

RF: Do you write every day or just when the mood hits you?

AMR: I would write everyday if I could but I usually have too many other things to do. So it’s usually when the mood hits me and I have the time. There are a lot of stories that I started but never finished because too much time passed and I had other fics on the mind.

RF: I think many writers are overloaded and overwhelmed with tons of ideas and situations they’d love to pen but just don’t have the time to do so.  Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing? 

AMR: Yes, yes I do… lol. It’s a constant balancing act with me trying to keep the right amount of details. Too many details and a reader can get lost in the wording, not enough details and they can’t really see the picture you’re trying to illustrate. Also, I’ve noticed that I need to be careful about the amount of time I allow to pass between chapters or the writing of a particular story. I become so busy that I lose the excitement I had going for that fic or story. It’s all a learning process, I think. I’ve chatted with other ff writers or writers in general and they’re processes are usually different from mine. Through them I’ve learned useful techniques that helped me become better at, in my opinion. I also try to learn from my own mistakes. For instance, I have a problem over using the word had. He had this…that had happened…she had given something… I started looking out for those unnecessary evil hads and eliminate them while editing. Those and the misuse or overuse of punctuation. Usually they’re just not necessary and can be distracting. I want to make the fic or story entertaining but I also want it to be easy to read.

RF: I love a self aware writer.  I believe greatness can stem from mindfulness of one’s shortcomings and then making the proper corrections and edits to move forward.  We can all take a note from you! :) Now for the fun, semi-related question.  Apples or mints?

AMR:  Yay! So to answer this, I’ve written a smutty ficlet. I would strongly advise the underage or smut-sensitive Richonners not to read this one. Also, I would like to thank Richonnefics and Nik for considering me for the interview. “Preferred Uses”

Michonne plopped on the bed. She lied back and flung her arm over her forehead. Rick watched her perfect frame come to rest on top the white comforter. He pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it at the clothes hamper. His eyes wandered over her body as he walked over to the dresser.

“I think Eugene is intentionally trying to drive me crazy.” Michonne sighed.

“Oh yeah and how’s that?” Rick asked reaching into the top drawer.

“He’s quiet most of the time but then he’ll start ranting about something and I never know what the hell he’s talking about.” Michonne rubbed her eyes and kicked off her boots.

Rick let out a little laugh and walked to the edge of the bed. He slid his hand under her ankles to lift her feet. He sat down on the bed and put them in his lap.

“Mmmmm… that feels so good.” Michonne groaned as Rick squeezed and massaged her foot.

“Does it?” He asked, side eyeing her.

“Yes.”

“Good. Oh, and look what I found.” Rick said lifting the Icicle mints up in his hand.

Michonne raised her head up and opened her eyes. She laughed reaching out for it.

“Are those the same ones from that night?” She asked as Rick handed them to her.

Rick smiled and grinned looking back down at her slender sock-covered foot.

“Yep. My lucky mints.” He joked.

“I wondered what happened to these.”

Michonne lied back and happily twirled the mints through her fingers. A smile grew on her face as she reminisced about their first time together.

“I’m surprised you kept them.” She looked at Rick.

“Well they’re special. And they’re still good.” He said taking the other foot and massaging it.

Michonne slid her hand beneath her head and continued to inspect the pack of mints.

“We have more than enough toothpaste now, I don’t think we’ll be needing these anytime soon.”

“Well, there’s more than one way to use them.” Rick said squeezing her foot again.

Michonne eyes darted over at Rick catching a hint of desire in his voice. She stretched her foot in his hand and felt him seductively rub his thumb back and forth between her toes.

“What other uses do they have, Mr. Grimes?” She asked in a low voice.

Ricked leaned toward her and tilted his head.

“I’d have to show you.” He almost whispered.

Michonne giggled. He looked too sexy trying to seduce her, she thought to herself.

“If you think you can?” She countered, mimicking his suggestive tone.

He reached out his hand and Michonne handed the mints back to him.

Rick moved up on the bed and straddled her legs. He began to unbuckle her belt and pants. Michonne watched with curiosity as the muscles in his shoulder and chest flexed with every movement. He looked down at her as he opened her buckle.

“You sure?” He asked lightly wetting his bottom lip.

Michonne loved the way his steely blue eyes tempted her.

“Yes I’m sure.” She answered wondering what he planned to do.

Rick slid back off her legs peeling her pants and panties from her legs as he did. He threw them and her socks to the floor. Michonne slid one of her legs to a slight bend and watched as Rick sat between her feet and unwrapped the mints.

He opened his mouth and held one of the mints between his teeth. He made sure she saw it before he slunk between her legs.

Michonne’s head pressed into the pillow when she felt the thickness of his wet tongue abruptly glide along her walls and wagged at her clitoris. She arched her back and felt her muscles tighten. There was a tingle from the mint as it began to interact with her moisture.

Her hands roamed along the comforter, across her bare legs, and over Rick’s head. She softly moaned through clenched teeth as her fingers curled through his hair. It had been so long since she’d experienced this type of pleasure and the sensation from the warming mint made her want to scream. Rick’s tongue prodded her as he skillfully caught and released the heated mint which sent waves of ecstasy through her body.

Rick tried to focus on what he was doing but her soft feminine cries made him so hard that he ached. He enjoyed the sweet almost electric taste of her and the way her smooth hot thighs pressed against his face and shuddered on top his shoulders. The mint was nearly gone when she tried to pull away but he slid her back toward him and buried his tongue inside of her. Michonne let out a gushing screech as her fingers tightly fisted the comforter. He laughed to himself as she did that cute thing she does when she cums really hard. Her foot rapidly thumped against the bed as Rick pulled away from her.

Rick wiped his mouth with his arm and climbed on the bed beside her. He leaned over her as she took long deep breaths. He kissed her on her lips and watched as she finally opened her eyes.

Rick smiled when she looked over at him.

“Hey there, Thumper.” He laughed.

Michonne laughed and shook her head. “Uh uhh, nope… you cannot call me that.”

Rick continued to kiss her as his hands explored her body. Michonne felt his hardened state grind against her leg. She reached between them and began to rub his swollen crotch causing Rick to groan and drop his head on her shoulder.

Michonne laughed again.

“Come here, Grimes.” She said grabbing his buckle and pulling him over to her.

Michonne and Rick both rested naked on the bed laboring for air. Both were covered in sweat and both were satisfied.

Rick took a deep breath and threw his arm over his head.

“We have anymore apples? I could really use one right now.” He said, officially adopting them as his after sex refreshment.

“Not up here, but it does sound good.” Michonne said still breathing heavily as she sat up and looked toward the dresser.

“I’ll go get the apples, you find the mints.” She said standing up and grabbing her pants.

Rick’s eyes squinted as he looked over at her.

“The mints?”

“Yeah, for next time. They’re still good right?” Michonne smiled as she threw on one of his shirts.

Rick laughed.

“Yeah they are.” He said lying back and watching her saunter out of the room.

Richonne AU Tag - College Edition

1) Who notices the other first?

They’re at a rally for a debt free college and Michonne is standing among the students.  Rick notices her right away because 1) she’s beautiful and 2) she’s one of the few who isn’t being too vocal.  He approaches her cautiously, “Hey.  You really think this rally is going to do any good?”  She looks over at him, noticing his extremely blue eyes.  “I sure hope so.  I’m one of the organizers.”  She smiles at the surprised look on his face as she makes her way through the crowd to the podium.

2) Who makes the first move?

It was mutual.  Rick is almost a little intimidated after the rally, but he notices her around campus and she drops into one of his focus groups for a Research Methods class.  She sees him right away as he is the only person she recognizes.  She makes a beeline for him and he hurriedly moves his backpack and books to make room for her on the couch.  He smiles.  “Hi.  I’m Rick.”  She returns the smile.  “Michonne.  Nice to meet you.”  They end up agreeing to go for a latte after the group meeting and things kind of flowed from there.

3) Who causes the first fight?

Rick does.  He starts slacking off with the focus group and Michonne is not having it.  He doesn’t help matters by joking about it, either.  Michonne is a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to her college work, so she doesn’t understand why Rick is so flippant about it.  He realizes how serious she is when she doesn’t return any of his calls or texts for an entire day.  He shows up at her dorm, ready with his apology.  She accepts after she sees how upset he is and after his promise to buckle down with the group assignments.

4) Who says “I love you” first?

Rick does.  It was actually during Spring Break, sophomore year.  Michonne decided to stay on campus as she was preparing for her first mock trial.  Everything had to be on point.  Rick and Shane had gone home, but imagine her surprise when Rick showed up at her dorm on Wednesday night.  He wasn’t due back until Sunday, but he couldn’t stay away.  That night, he took her out to dinner just to give her a well-deserved break from all the hard work she had been doing.  They were cuddled up in his bed about to go to sleep when he whispered “I love you” in her ear. 

5) Who keeps the other company (and sneaks in food) during all-nighters at the library?

Both.  Michonne is definitely a motivator for Rick as he needs a nudge every now and then.  He is her biggest supporter as he recognizes her need to achieve her goals, so he does what he can to help out.

6) Who calls the other everyday just to say “good morning” before they each head off to class?

Rick calls Michonne.  She is the first person on his mind when he wakes up and the last person on his mind before he falls asleep. 

7) Who gets sloppy drunk on their 21st birthday?

Both.  Michonne is always so focused on work, so she just wants to let loose for once.  Rick is there to enjoy seeing her be so free and the happiest drunk he has ever seen.  As for Rick’s 21st b-day, he has his buddy, Shane, to thank for his drop down the rabbit hole.  Michonne was there to witness it, of course.

8) Who stays calm during their pregnancy scare junior year?

Definitely Rick.  He’s nervous, of course, but willing to step up and do what needs to be done if they are going to be parents.  Michonne was totally freaking out.  Luckily, it was just a scare and they were extra careful after that.

9) Who takes the other home to meet their parents first?

Rick does.  His mom insists because he can’t stop gushing about Michonne whenever he’s home or even when he talks to his mom on the phone every other day.

10) Who suggests they move in together their senior year?

Michonne.  Spending the night at his place almost every night and waking up beside him in the mornings was something she had gotten used to, so when her lease was about to end, she brought it up and Rick was all for it.  

BONUS QUESTION:

Who cries when Rick proposes to Michonne at their joint graduation dinner?

She starts crying as soon as she sees him drop to one knee in front of everybody.  He is a bundle of nerves, so before he can get a word out, his eyes start to tear up because he can see how happy she is.  He manages to ask the question and she says yes, of course.
