Apparently there’s been some issues with Series 30. A friend of mine said it may be postponed even for schedule conflicts.
Now I have to remote into my RPI and see if the wee beast heard anything!

Sometimes I think about all the things that I want to do... I want a nice home station for HF, I want to do DX and maybe a DX expedition, I want to take part in emergency radio training, I want to get friends active with a basic license to have a small local net, I want to take psrt in contests... And I panic.
And then I realize I have still all my life to do this and I don't have to do all of it in one summer
We have another SSTV event coming from the space station.
FYI an old set of rabbit ears does indeed make for a good receive antenna for the space station. Just tested it out and copied several QSOs off the on board repeater.
I just soldered an RCA jack (also in the junk box) on the old 300ohm lead and used an adapter to get it into the coax and to my HT radio. It’s really that little effort to have a pretty decent downlink.
I have made this blog to try and spread interest about amateur radio, and to document my journey in the hobby.
I don't remember how I found out about the existence of the amateur radio world... For one reason or the other, I wanted to get my license for a long time and finally took the plunge last year.
I want to say, if you live in Germany, the time has never been better to get your license. It's now quite easy to get the novice license (N) and marginally more complicated to get your mid-level (E) license. It took me literally a couple of months to study the materials and I have NO previous experience in STEM subjects beyond high school classes that are now fifteen years behind me. And German is my third language.
If you live in Germany and want to get into radio or even just think it might be something interesting for you to explore, send me a message! I'll do my best to help you.
Heads up, new ISS SSTV event coming.
