IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY!!
I'm 21 wooo!!!
Dance Preludes: III. Allegro giocoso - Witold Lutosławski
Clarinet: Alex Shaw Piano: Maria Garcia
Me playing Lutoslawski for my recital! That squeak on the fifth note will forever haunt me hahaa...
Fantasy for Clarinet - Malcolm Arnold
Clarinet: Alex Shaw (ME!)
Another piece from my end of year recital. Again, some dire mistakes which I apologise for! It's the typical thing of being able to play things perfectly in practice, but then when it comes to the real thing...it just falls apart!
I saw Beyoncé at her Mrs Carter World Tour!!!!
I just want to say a massive THANK YOU...
...to everyone who messaged me with regard to my Music Psychology post! You have helped me so much! I will send personal thank you's too, but only when I've finished collating all your answers! (There were quite a few!)
For those wondering, the from the feedback I got, the vast majority of you do move whilst performing, but are also discouraged from so... From an audience's point of view, most of you don't mind a bit of movement, however you're all consistent when you say too much movement can be distracting and unnecessary!
Once again, thank you so much! You guys are so awesome!
If you still fancy messaging me on your thoughts on movement through musical performance, then please do! Click the "music psychology" link above to see the original post!
Many thanks, lots of love!

TUMBLR MUSICIANS: I NEED YOUR HELP!
I'm writing a Music Psychology paper on "Movement through musical performance" - basically about how/why we do/don't move about whilst performing.
Do you move a lot whilst performing? If so, why? Are you concious of these movements? Are you discouraged it?
Or are you the opposite: do you keep movement to a minimum, and are you fully aware of this?
From an audience point of view, is movement through performance a distraction, or simply an enhancement to the recital you are attending?
I would be forever grateful if you could take the time to perhaps share your views by writing me a Tumblr message. If possible, it would be really helpful to include the region of the world you come from, as well as your age, gender, and what instrument you play!
Thank you so much!
Alex, amusiclibrary
Me having a go at the third movement of Weber's 1st Clarinet Concerto! (Watch in HD!)
Sorry for the mistakes!! COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS ARE MORE THAN WELCOME!
Guys... I did the Cinnamon Challenge.
(Better late than never)
