hello again! before we jump into our first preview (!!) we'd like to thank each and every person who's posted in our tag so far! it's been a blast reading your introduction posts and getting to know you better! we're all looking forward to seeing what else you have in store for us throughout the buzz period! that being said: our first preview is going to be more on the traditional side and completely handy for those who beginning to map out their characters.
under the cut you will find look at our eight member groups. as to stick with the salem spirit, each member group is representative of a different herb or plant that witches frequently use. we decided to go with an aesthetic approach with the descriptions. we hope in doing so you'll not only be able to have more wiggle room with the group that you choose, but that the descriptions may be of some use of you if you are having a difficult time choosing one! without further ado, here are our member groups! 🎃

considering i have absolutely no creativity in graphic making right now ... the above is what you're gonna get for now, but it paints a pretty good picture of what this request is all about: a big ass family.
before i start: a quick trigger warning for parental death, death by car accident and parental abandonment / neglect, and divorce.
adam park and emily janssen (later known as emily barre) were quintessential. they were everything that the most cheese of romcoms made you wish you wanted to be: prom king and queen, voted cutest couple in their senior year book, and then ... they weren't. everyone was convinced that they were going to marry and have just short of a million kids together, but it didn't exactly work that way. the morning of their high school graduation emily dropped the bomb that she was joining the peace corps ... and her relationship with adam was as good as over. in the two years that followed both adam and emily ended up finding new partners: adam married a long time family friend while emily married a guy that she met at a lobster shack in boston. all was well for both of them until 2002 or so. shit started to hit the fan for both around this point - and they were each miserable on their own accord. for adam, the sudden passing of his wife in a car accident was both a shock and blow to himself and their children. for emily, her husband just up and left one day .. and she discovered not long after it was for someone far too young for him. both feeling a bit downtrodden, their luck began to change when they ran into each other again at a small gathering of high school friends in the salem area. one thing led to another and, by the time the weekend had ended, they had eloped - to the mutual shock of their friends and children.
bringing their families together wasn’t easy at first. each set of kids was uncomfortable in their own way, and found ways to express that through both whining and retaliation for the first six months of the marriage before everything started to fall into place. and now? it’s as if they were never not siblings. sixteen years has passed since the quickfire marriage was officiated and the couple are as happy as ever. the kids? they’re blood, no matter what others try to tell them.
so, this? yeah. this is a massive family and a very mixed one at that. adam is korean american, as was his first wife, and therefore all of his kids would be korean. emily is white and her first husband was as well so all of her biological kids would be white while the adopted are open for faces of any background. adam’s wife passed and emily’s divorce went through both at the end of 2002. they married in 2003. adam’s side have all lived in salem their entire life while emily’s moved to the city from boston after the marriage happened. they all decided to take on park-barre as their last name around 2006! the ages for adam’s kids are fairly fixed while emily’s can be played with a bit given that some were adopted! they also have one shared half-sibling, but she’s, like, eleven and unplayable. (clearly.) if you’re interested either reply here and i’ll save you a slot or dm me on discord at britt#4980! (*) below indicates twins!

background · born and raised in mass and is the textbook definition of a masshole / parents got together after his father (leo) went through a string of unsuccessful marriages and left a string of children to follow / mother (neve) was a waitress at a popular local seafood restaurant, father came from a poor family but paid his own way through college and hopped on the 90′s technological wave and now runs a successful multinational company that develops and supplies cell phone companies with technology (who cares why did i research this) / the age gap was controversial from the beginning and no one believed that it would last but they basically did the impossible and did, in fact, make it last / while neither of his parents grew up in wealth, they wanted to provide the best for their kids and made sure they never had to want for anything in their entire lives - private school, tutors, extracurriculars galore, etc etc / the family was always close, and because leo’s ceo-status allowed him to configure his own schedule he made sure he was there for dinner most nights and for every important milestone or activity in their lives / during the recession, the restaurant that neve worked at years and years ago was in danger of closing down and she decided to buy it and keep all of the staff on, shifting the image a little and rebranding it as a more ~food network chic~ type of deal / ash worked there throughout high school, not because his parents asked him to but because he wanted to help them out (and also appear as if he was an upstanding member of society for college apps tbqh!!) / when he graduated, he decided to take a gap year in order to work with his dad and learn the ropes of the ~family business~ / that gap year turned into two and into three.... / his parents probably would’ve supported him regardless, but he knew he had to go to college so he did / for whatever reason his needy codependent masshole ass believed he could go far away and enrolled into stanford university’s business & finance program / after some internal turnover in the company, some federal investigations and overall uneasiness within the family, asher decided to come back just for the summer ... and now it’s just this semester but in all honesty he’s not really looking forward to going back at all!
personality · incredible just how much of a brown noser he is while also being catty and also lazy?? truly an amazing combination / overly competitive about the stupidest things like how fast he can eat his food / super close to his family and can be the sweetest, most caring person when it comes to them but outside of that tends to be cold and stuck up / both overly confident and overly concerned with what everyone else thinks about him, he has the whole inferiority superiority complex shit down PAT / mostly always focused on the wrong things in life, gets distracted super easily from what’s important and instead decides to, like... read a whole book in one night or some dumb shit he shouldn’t be doing / doesn’t really know how to have fun because everything is a competition to him / some dumb quack doctor made the mistake of prescribing him adderall when he was like 13 and it SHOWS / hashtag fluent in sarcasm / elitist as fuck but pretends not to be / overall a huge bitch baby that thinks getting his own apartment 10 minutes from his parents’ house is a Big Grown Up Move
born to a nuclear family in a quintessential cul de sac / low key a sheltered life, high key an idiot of a white boy because of it / *reads about crime ridden neighborhoods* “damn why don’t they just move then, ppl don’t use their heads smh” / grew up vastly untalented and valiantly ungifted / failed miserably at every try out he ever attended, but always annoyed the shit out of the coach enough to let him bench warm / decided that golf is “his sport” despite the fact that it sometimes takes him 7+ hrs to complete a front nine / didn’t really learn the lesson that u can’t just annoy the shit out of a coach to let u on a team post high school / so decided the reason he’s not making the cut for tournaments is bc he has to network / and u know what??? aim high / put all of his money from his job as a golf cart attendant to follow tiger woods cross country / ended w him accidentally running him down in a golf cart, spending 9 hrs in jail, and a restraining order against him #tbt / thinks he’s a dick but recognizes that this is gonna be a problem when they’re someday playing in the same tourney / life goal is now to get tiger woods to lift the restraining order / drunkenly married an equally drunk girl because he’s an idiot and thought she personally knew tiger woods (she doesn’t) / still milking his 9 hrs in jail and really considers himself a bad boy now / not a bad boy, just annoying, thinks listening to drake makes him hard / works as a caddie now at a local country club, has been written up a few too many times for not being able to shut the fuck up while members play / rarely shuts the fuck up in general
needs: would love a group of middle class nightmare boys he grew up with tho i recognize this is specific. i might req a group later tho regardless. other than that give me exes, country club members he can brag about meeting tiger woods to, normal friends that judge all of his poor life choices. thank u
