The Last California Bear I am currently working on a project illustrating the stories of animals who were the last of its species. A sad warning. This is the last Californian bear. Said to be the largest of all brown bears. Hunted to death during the gold rush. The last was said to be caught in a publicity stunt and lived out his days in a cage. He now survives on the flag of California. Dot work & Amy Dover

I was inspired by how intricate and packed full of detail there designs are. Whilst having a go at some of these designs i realised how time consuming it is and that you would need more than just a few minutes of concentration and patients. which it was a challenge to stay concentrated and have a little more patients the out come was defiantly worth it, however depending on whether i’d want to do this as a design that i take forward, i’d have to think about materials and how time consuming it would be to create as a mass production and also be printed onto different fabrics.
