Gyrfalcon
This is a drawing I've done of a gyrfalcon.
The gyrfalcon can be found in the arctic regions of North America, Europe and Siberia. They're the largest of the falcon species. The "gyr" part of their name either means circle or curved path, due to their flight path when hunting for prey, originally coming from Latin, or comes from the High Old German word for vulture, due to their relatively large size.
This will be the last drawing I've done based on photos taken by my hubby of birds at Huxley's.
