The Stark family tree foreshadowing is my some of favorite. Thanks for sharing it and reminding me! Do you think Jon's future is perhaps foreshadowed by Ned's "dream for spring" in the Gift? I mean why take valuable book time to bunny trail to Ned's hopes for some random vacant land? The question is also, could it be as Lord Commander of the NW he might resettle the gift? And after all the lives lost in the war, the Wildlings choose to live peacefully where they used to raid out of desperation?

Yesss!!! Sansa used a branch, which can also mean part of a family, to make her castle stronger. There's also two snowballs, plus a third, and then packed it with more snow. Makes us think of marriage plus a child and then the continuation of the Stark line.

Ned's dream is a good dream? Or will it stay just like that, merely a dream? My less cynical side would like to think there's hope for the future. Spring comes after winter and the time where vegetations bloom. Jon in a position of power would do what he can to help and if that requires the resettling of The Gift then he would do it. His brother is King in the South while he's hopefully King in the North. He won't get much opposition.

Sansa drifted to sleep as the moon rose, Arya several hours later, curling up in the grass under Ned's cloak. All through the dark hours he kept his vigil alone. When dawn broke over the city, the dark red blooms of dragon's breath surrounded the girls where they lay.

What I'm sure is he's gonna be alive to watch over Sansa and Arya.
