There's something unexplainable in these beautiful but somber seconds of Optimus Prime sadly watching Megatron drive off into the distance. Losing a best friend like this is so hard, but the way he gazes at him regretfully, like he just wants his friend back just hurts so much.
For the first time, whilst Optimus went through that flashback, he was truly alone without his friend by his side (before Elita or B returned to the scene). Such a powerful scenario, knowing those whom you've trusted for so long may not be the person you always thought they'd turn out to be...
When Sapnap found out Dream was tortured did he implied that Dream should've have liked being tortured? Just can't remember what he said.
Okay so I went back and watched the vod (or at least the part that was uploaded on Sapnap's channel) - below is the transcript of the parts I found interesting.
(everything below the cut is about the characters not content creators!)
Sapnap: I told you to stay in there. Why did you get out?
Dream: What do you... 'why did i get out'?
Sapnap: Why did you get out?
Dream: Oh you want me to rot- I was getting tortured! Do you want me to rot in the prison forever?
Sapnap: Tortured? Who is torturing you?
(break for cc!Techno's loud keyboard lmao)
Sapnap: You are getting tortured?
Dream: Yeah. Quackity was torturing me.
Sapnap: Quackity was torturing you?! What do you mean he was torturing you? Like literally torturing you?
Dream: Yes! He was trying to get the revival book so he was torturing me.
Sapnap: The revival book? What revival book? Do you have it on you now?
Dream (overlapping): It's a long story.
Dream: No I don't. Just give me my stuff!
Sapnap (overlapping): Where is it?
Dream (also overlapping): Look, just give me my stuff and I will leave. I'll be out of your hair.
Later they speak about other stuff and then Sapnap says this when Dream says he is going to be peaceful from now on:
Sapnap: (...) and the fact that you broke out of that prison is a testimony to that.
So. Now that we have the transcript. Did Sapnap imply that Dream should have liked being tortured?
Short answer: No. He didn't ask about it a lot and the information about the revival book distracted him enough to make him change the subject, but he didn't imply that. At least not to Dream.
Long answer: No. But!
When Dream says "Look, just give me my stuff and I will leave. I'll be out of your hair." He sounds... defeated almost. Like he was disappointed about how the interaction went, like he expected something else.
It could be because he was getting tired and he just wanted his armour back. He didn't want to fight Sapnap - the moment he does attack is after he is already running and he doesn't really fight, more like... tries to distract Sapnap to have some time to run away I guess.
But! It could also be his disbelief over how quickly Sapnap moved on from being told Dream was getting tortured in prison by Quackity. Someone that Sapnap is (or at least was from what Dream knows) close to.
I think an important line is also when Sapnap says "Like literally torturing you?". He is doubting Dream, doesn't believe what happened. Does that mean he thinks Dream should be okay with what happened? Not really. But it is a pretty shitty thing to say to someone.
Also Sapnap does tell Dream that he should have stayed in there. Both before learning about the torture and after (but in different words, when he is pointing out Dream is not one for a peaceful life).
I have to make this now so i don't forget but i have some dream analysis/theories!! i'll probs rb this later with more explanations +detail but for now, i'm throwing this out into the world!

dream strikes me as the kind of guy who has never had something good. of course, he had his friends and things he loved, cherished, even, but he seems like the guy who doesn't even know what a good quality of life looks like. it feels like he's always had it rough, had so little, that he doesn't even know that it's bad. the way he said "i don't even sleep" to techno in passing made it sound casual like it was something that's become a common part of dream's life (or always has been?)
dream never approaches the negative parts of his life with anything but a casual, neutral tone. he never complains about grinding for resources, never mentions that he's tired, his houses are barren and empty, and really he had nothing that was his, outside of his armor, for a long time. like, pre-disk finally (and even then- the legitimacy of dream's evil lair being nothing but for show is up for debate). the only exception to this was the Spirit Speech, but those were completely different circumstances.
...has dream ever had a safe place to sleep? has he ever had a home? has there ever been a time where he just let himself rest, realize what's good for him, and what's not? because it really doesn't seem like it
Guys, another amazing blink and you miss it detail! You can actually pinpoint the exact moment Orion Pax dies in the film.
When he falls through the strata he is barely alive, BUT halfway down, you can just catch him as his paint colours fade away (especially the red) to grey, signifying his ultimate death. (Just like Sentinel when he died in a similar fashion.) This was such a clever way D fortold Sentinel's death but now as Orions own fate. He passed away, and suffered alone in darkness....
Look at these gifs! 1 is slowed down so you can see it better frame by frame
Oh my god I just noticed this tiny detail in TFOne that I dont think has been mentioned yet 🥺
Look carefully at Optimus before and after he and Megatron fight....
Post fight, Optimus has suffered damage and he has what looks like scratches or possibly cracks on his chest window, whilst no other harm seems to have been inflicted from the battle (apart from the intense emotional damage that was building up) and in most cases, the glass in a window is usually weaker at the corners. Coincidence? Or intentional?
No paint chips, or other 'scars'..... Yet something tells me Megatron was initially aiming for the actual Matrix and not Prime at first.
"I don't want a redemption arc, because I can feel (c!)Dream doesn't regret what he has done"
Oh boy. I wonder why. I'm sure I would 100% regret the things I have done when nobody tried telling me what was wrong about it and also tortured me because of that. I'm sure I would love to make ammends with the people that locked me in a box, killed a cat I was getting attached to when I tried to get better, tried to murder me, tortured me and told me if I ever got out they would kill me 🙃 /s
But yeah, c!Dream should definitely feel bad about all the wrong he has done when no one told him even what was wrong about his actions. Reminder: he believes the reason he is locked up (and that it the reason btw, not the exile) is that he has the revival book!! He is not answering for his crimes! He is not learning to be better! He is getting tortured for information!
Please stop saying the prison will make him better. It won't. It's not. How is he supposed to get better when he is getting confirmation on his beliefs every day? Attachments are weaknesses. You can't trust anyone.
He won't learn anything if no one tells him what he did wrong. If no one helps him.
Just thought this was interesting: Kokona’s rabbit is most likely named after German biologist Jakob von Uexküll.
Interestingly enough, Uexküll (the biologist, not the rabbit) came up with the idea of Umwelt, which observes that different organisms in an environment pick up on different environmental signals. Like, for instance, the survival of some animals depend more on certain sounds than on their sight, or more on certain smells than sounds. The part of the world that an animal can perceive is called its “umwelt,” while the reality that exists outside of its perception is “umgebung.” (Which, coincidentally, is a really fun word to say out loud.)
Now how does this relate to the actual show? Well shit, dude, I don’t really know. But I think the show’s concept of “Pure Illusion” may play a part in it somehow. The show may be implying some sort of “emotional umwelt” in its main characters, especially Kokona, since she’s the one who’s been experiencing the most emotional growth in the series so far.
When Kokona explores Pure Illusion with Papika, it’s almost as if she’s prodding at the limits of her own perceptions (in particular, the perceptions she’s formed about herself and her sexual identity), and Papika is the catalyst for her to broaden those perceptions. Kokona’s journey, in other words, may be an act of discovering a reality—an “umgebung”—outside of her own misconceptions.
