Happy to announce that I’m 98% done BOTH my Fandom Trumps Hate pieces for @totallysilvergirl and @anarfea, which I’m SO SORRY about taking so long on them!!! I meant to do them over my holidays but I got too into Horizon and then GreedFall immediately after, LOL. I have this problem that when I start a new game, I obsessively play it until completion, so yeah…. Oof.

I decided on my breather between games, figured I should just finish them up, since I want to play the other Assassin’s Creed game I bought at Christmas and I get TOO into AC games ( I like farming a LOT, so I will legit go around and collect everything and THEN breeze right through the quest lines because I’m so op’d lol) so best for me to just finish the stuff People actually paid for lol.

ANYWAY, just touching up a couple things, sitting on it for a few days to make sure I’m happy with them, and will email them you y’all soon :)

Greg and Mycroft have been seeing each other (neither of them calls it dating) for several months when Greg asks Mycroft on a date on Wednesday. Not ‘Valentine’s Day,’ even though it is, because Greg doesn’t want to spook Mycroft by appearing overly sentimental or romantic. Mycroft spooks anyway.

*hug!* I didn’t wanna toss this in the PSA, but yes. The standard treatment for this cancer at this stage is a total hysterectomy. Which, given the issues I’ve been having all along, I was already advocating for. I’m 47, there ain’t gonna be no babies, so let’s do this. Treatment usually doesn’t even involve chemotherapy. The good thing about this cancer is that it’s, by definition, very confined from spreading throughout the body. 

If I had to get cancer, I got very very very lucky. 5 year survival rate is 95% or higher, so I think most of my fallout is going to be emotional. Cancer’s been kind of a phobia for me, like ULTIMATE ALL TIME WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN EVER, but most of the fears connected to it are not likely to arise in my situation.

So last night I tried making a savory pumpkin pie. I looked at a couple of recipes and didn't find one that looked like what I wanted so I kind of invented my own.

Ingredients:

Pie crust: I used store bought but if you're an over-achiever you can make it from scratch

1 can of pumpkin: again, if you want to buy a pumpkin and bake it be my guest.

1 yellow onion

1 1/2 cups half and half

1/2 cup shredded cheese (I used Swiss, but Jarlsberg, Edam or even cheddar might also be good)

2 eggs

Garam masala (I just sprinkled it in there, I think I used about 2 tsps). If you don't have Garam masala, try black or cayenne pepper, or maybe cumin. Go wild.

Salt (to taste)

Olive oil (for cooking onions)

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 450 Fahrenheit 

Peel and chop onion into thin slices. Saute in olive oil until caramelized. Salt to taste.

In a bowl, mix pumpkin, cheese, eggs, half and half, garam masala, and salt

Stir onion mixture into bow

Pour into pie shell. Cover edges (I use these little silicone things, they're great).

Bake pie for 15 min at 450. Then turn oven down to 350 and bake a further 40 min or until you can poke pie with a toothpick and have it come out clean.

Let cool (I put mine in the freezer because I'm impatient).

Slice and eat!
