whenever you do go for it, I'd rec starting with the book. it's highly disturbing, but it's so freakingly well written that it takes you a while to put the pieces together and understand wth is happening (which increases the horrificness, I guess??). either way, yeah, best be in a good state of mind. it's a heavy one that pulls you in

For me the show had a good balance of pure despair and hope. You never really stop caring about the characters, and when you feel like this show is just going to get darker for them they kick back and show you you can never truly make people submit to these fucked up people. Anyway season 1 was fucking dope, I did cry a lot though, and laughed, and cheered....but yeah do it when your mood is more accepting...

I only watched the first episode. It was too much for me but I could tell that it was a very good show!
